Coronavirus

I worry for the final body count in the USA.

Current confirmed cases at around 90,000 apparently.

Caught between two stools as whether Trump could do with a good (ideally fatal) dose of it, because if he were to survive, it would only bolster his claims about it not being that bad etc.

I struggle to find the words to express my utter contempt for the man.

Which, when you consider quite how sweary I am in normal circumstances, is at least some form of achievement.

Tony F tried to cut his legs from under him last night after he'd left the room, emphasising that the war isn't won when numbers start to drop, that the knowledge gained from other countries proves that doesn't mean the job is done.

But Donald knows better apparently

He has a feeling that his way is brilliant. Because he is a brilliant, stable, genius.

Strangely, I would expect a brilliant, stable genius to have a slightly better record at not bankrupting companies and halving daddy's fortune.

The economy was tanking and increasingly falsified way before coronavirus. They were running out of stimulus and the consumers encased in more and more debt. Our only use on this planet is consumption and when you get old it's fuck you fend for yourself. It was only a matter of time before the population revolted. Austerity will seem like a walk in the park compared to what will happen in the next few months. The only difference now is that the state has the power of house arrest etc which they did not before. Those emergency payments will not last forever.

There is a very disturbing growing movement within some sections of the media in this country supporting Donalds belief that the effect on the economy of saving lives is too great.

2 confirmed cases two streets away.....ooooooh.

Oh, the Twitter Wolves bloke that's got it is the Landlord of The Fox at Shipley. I forget his name. He's a mate of Penk's.

80% of last three years average income for the self-employed.

Open to those earning up to £50k p/a.

I think/hope I can limp through until then!

If this is because some wankers are late in filing (nearly two months late at that) then that is silly. That's their problem, not mine, I've never been late.

That is way too late. What a shitshow. How hard can it be to sort it immediately and claw it back through a tax rise once this whole mess is over. Stop playing with people's lives you bunch of heartless fuckwits...

Should be available by June. That sounds waaaayyy too late.

Fair few will fold.

Its an odd one as all the details they require are on the HMRC system. They have set the limits and I presume the system in place can filter out those not eligable and then do the average calculation....although I may be giving the system more power than it has and the delay is because they need someone to create a programme to do all this work.

This wanker on about people "abusing the system". Fuck off you bald bastard. This is vital.

Dan - I'm being paid in full at the normal time because of a generous boss and being on PAYE, so if you start to struggle I can pick up a food parcel and drop it round your house when I have to do an essentials run. You just need to say the word.

Mine were filed April last year, why the fuck should I have to hang on for 2 months with nothing. And will my ability to claim it be affected if in the meantime if I take a temporary job working in a supermarket?

Thanks mate, I appreciate it. I *think* it'll be just about ok. Tight and I'll be avoiding looking at my bank balance too often (!) but if it's two months or so and it all works then I'm hopeful.

You must say if it starts getting really tight. Squeeze is shoulder to shoulder with me on this. We will help you if you need it.

I would wait for the detail this evening on that, but I think they would be fucking mad to punish you for taking a temp role where they are crying out for help as well. You have to do anything to keep the household budget going until the cavalry comes over the hill in June. It would be a horrible move to damage your chances because you tried to protect yourself.

I think there actually HAS to be some form of Universal Basic Income loan (or even more ideally GRANT) to go with this for those that won't make it to June. It seems the only fair thing to do.
