Have to say, Peter kays show was amazing. Brilliantly scripted and set up - the first half is so well staged, but appears so natural. Really well done.
Don't believe the show start and end times if you have tickets.
His fucking special guest making a cameo - very few people could obtain such a star!
My first proper experience of Peter Kay. The wife loved it (although initially inferred she was bored by the idea, despite being a massive fan). She's overjoyed she went.
All original material too. Obvious historic references (garlic bread, phone etc).

went to see Ahir Sha's show Ends the other week.
It's a really personal story, and fantastic in the issues ot covers about inter generational relations, especially for immigrant families and their offspring.
It's also a really nice optimistic show. Throughout he stresses a belief that people are fundamentally good.
I really enjoyed it. Apparently there is a recorded version of it on netflix, but it is worth seeing live.

Went to see Greg Davies on Saturday, he was decent. A routine of self deprecation about things which 'happened' but you know are mainly made up. My only criticism is the tales are a bit too tall.
Last night Stewart Lee, the 4th or 5th time I've seen him, first half was good, the second not particularly. The worst tour of his I've been to.

Richard Herrings "can I have my ball back" show yesterday evening was funny.
Looking forward to Nick Mohammed (Mr Swallow) next week, as well as mark Steel, and also Dara.

Milton Jones postpones dates on his tour to access cancer treatment (prostate). Caught early, so fingers crossed for him. Mrs Jelly worked with him when he did a show at her place, and said he is an absolutely lovey guy.

Day out in that there London yesterday to watch the Mischiefs Group latest offering - A Comedy about Spies.
Standard high quality from them packed with the usual contents from their work. Superbly done, ridiculously stupid and from the off you are laughing, even at the low level dad jokes.
The whole of the main group are insanely talented but Henry Lewis absolutely steals every scene he is in.
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is their next stage production (previously did this for a BBC special). Main cast doing a West End run in Dec/Jan. UK tour with the rest of their group.
Seeing the Play Goes Wrong in NYC a week on Tuesday as well.

Saw The Play That goes Wrong a few years ago and whilst I enjoyed it, it wasn’t entirely my thing, but the wife found it hysterical from start to finish, literally crying with laughter.
If I can bag tickets for A Comedy About Spies and line up a nice pre-theatre dinner there will be some serious brownie points earned.

Edit: Enjoy the show in NYC too. Managed to get short notice tickets there a good few years ago, took what was going and saw Kinky Boots. Wasn’t Les Mis but didn’t need to be, still hugely enjoyable and the ‘Show on Broadway’ thing is a hell of a big box to tick. Have a brilliant time, enjoy.

I loved Pheonix Nights and that Peter kay thing had it's moments but I've never been that impressed by his live show.

His stand up was ok in his early days but nothing special. Phoenix nights was good, I also enjoyed Car Share.

Just back from seeing pierre novelllie.
Saw him a couple of years ago supporting someone else (can't remember who!) & both Mrs jelly & I thought he was good. Which tbh is rare for a support act on a comedy show. So signed up to his mailing list & ended up going to this tour show.
He's a really good story teller, with interesting anecdotes and an interesting perspective. Really enjoyed the evening. No huge belly laughs, but really good entertainment.
Would definitely recommend checking his show out!

Went to See Dara a couple or 3 months ago. All new material a bit less spontaneously funny, but much more factual about him finding out his 'real' Dad was still alive and his search for him. Brilliant ending!
