Comedians

Went to see Phil Jupitus at Bronsgrove Artix.

First, venue is ace, superb smaller venue. Also, free parking, and easy access. Fab!

The big fella - first, he did his own support slot. Comedy poetry! However the interval was him first throwing loads of choc bars and teacakes from the stage to the crowd, then wandering around the auditorium shaking hands, taking selfies (you didn't have a choice, he'd nick your phone) and thanking people for coming.

Only ever saw him introducing lemon jelly on stage once, and he was pissed as a fart then. This time, he seemed quite humble. He's given up drugs and drink, and put on a good show.

Peter Kay has cancelled his tour and other work projects due to unforeseen family circumstances.

Doesn't sound good. I'd got tickets to see him. They'll be a few people having to quickly think of new Christmas presents this morning.

Some of the replies to his Twitter statement are just mind boggling. What the fuck is wrong with people??

Feel sorry for those who bought tickets via a re-seller. And on the otherhand, the re-seller might be getting double money back...

Also must be pretty big news to cancel all that.

Going to see Jim Jeffries tonight in Manchester at the Apollo.

Should be good fun.

Love Jim Jeffries, have only ever seen his shows through TV or Netflix. Would love to watch him live

Wasn't cheap at £45 each but his Netflix specials are great, if you like that type of comedy etc.

Bill Burr is my fave. He's got a few on Netflix too.

Doug Stanhope has announced a tour of o2 venues in June. £40 for unreserved seating though.

Saw him a few years ago at the wulfrun. was very funny.

Dara gig re-arranged for sept 16th. Aces, a sunday, and won't be on holiday, so not issues.

Went to see David Baddiel's My Family not the Sitcom last night. Funny and challenging in equal measures, well worth going to see if you get the chance. Also went to see Jonathan Pie last month, very good if you are left but not hard left leaning politically

I love Bill Burr. Always tells it straight, even in front of a celebrity crowd.
