Agree. I just think we’re a bit sheepish because of how we have played recently.I think some of the appraisals have been a little harsh. Could do with a second goal sharpish though, just in case.
I do agree it's frustrating to watch us lollop around the middle third of the pitch passing back and forth and back and forth. Not sure what the caution is for, they're hardly going to carve us open on the break
My guess is that the plan next Wednesday is to play this shape but with Traore and Neto as the attackers. So probably just worked within this shape all week in training.Kilman may as well not be on the pitch. If ever there was a game we could try and let the defender step in this would be it. But much easier to just have them holding each other’s hands on the halfway line.
Moutinho has been woeful (dreadful dead ball decisions) & why are we so frightened of beating them man for man. Hoever on most occasions is frightened to death of going past his man.It looks like our tactic is to bore them in to submission. Jesus Christ, we are a poor side.
- passing it back & forth & back & forth & back & forth between your three central defenders, your central midfielders & your wing backs (neither of whom have showed much interesting in attacking their men) is not only boring - it’s safe, uninspiring shit and it’s making our eyes bleed.
- Cutrone & Silva have made plenty of runs but we have no interest in passing forwards and finding them. Then when Cutrone does get the ball in and around the box he snatches at the shot because he’s desperate to make an impression (like the effort at the end of the half there)
- Moutinho is now a bigger issue than a positive. Fantastic player for us, but should we be moving away from him? He offers no goal threat. Very little assist threat. He is holding hands with the centre half’s against a conference side, ffs. His set pieces are amongst some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
We are genuinely terrible to watch. Thank Christ for the thundercunt in to the top corner because without that, despite the possession, they’ve offered more threat on goal.
Embarrassing.
He's having a lot of the ball, but running the midfield? That suggests he's doing something with the ball when he gets it. Moutinho has played a lot of passes but created nothing at allDefensively we are not being troubled and Moutinho is running the midfield
Up Front there has been nothing happening so far
Not fussed abut the score - just get a win and go home
This. First and foremost a clean sheet. That is what they have gone back to. If we win i don't care right now.Agree. I just think we’re a bit sheepish because of how we have played recently.
They’ve actually been very organised tbf. Covered the space around the forwards pretty well. But then we haven’t really moved them around well enough at all. My guess is spaces will begin to appear in the second half, just depends if we can be arsed to exploit them.Thought Chorley would've been a bit more blood and thunder but they seem pretty cautious in their approach too so it's a bit of a stalemate. At least if they were charging around trying to get in people's faces it might make it easier to find some spaces when keeping the ball as they'd undoubtedly struggle to stay organised.
Their keeper hasn’t had a save to make, mate. There are over 100 places between the two clubs in league position. Not laying a glove on them (bar a ridiculous ping from 40 yards) is embarrassing for a Premier League club!I think some of the appraisals have been a little harsh. Could do with a second goal sharpish though, just in case.
