Monster.

Brilliant ride from Ruby.

Top Notch is so game. Love to own him.

Shame he didn't jump the last right as that would have been a good chase between the two of them.

Was a brilliant ride, think Jacob at fault for the mistake on Top Notch 2 out. When he let him stride and attack the last he pinged it and it would have been close had he jumped 2 out better.

I'm sure I've asked the experts on here something similar before but how would you apportion the credit with regard to trainer/jockey? 50:50?

I think it's a tough one to judge if i'm being honest. Pretty sure they reckon the jockey is 5% and horse 95% but like in all sports the slightest change can make a big difference. In terms of trainer, there's a reason why some trainers keep getting good horses and that's because they just train them better than others.

Yeah, I guess it's all marginal gains once you get to the very top level, like all sports. I suppose getting to a great trainer is like being part of a historically successful football Academy - you know you've got far more chance of succeeding there than elsewhere.

Owners just leave it all to the trainer and cream off the rewards I guess?

They do but they pay the money to buy them and the trainer to train them. I actually have no idea who chooses/pays the jockey. The trainer I assume.

That is absolutely outstanding from Un de Sceaux. Ruby is the absolute master. Brilliant.
