Chelsea (A) - Verdict (by Treddman)

He wanted the short pass as he didnt fancy kicking into the wind. Just took a while for Boly to get the message.

But Boly just launched it anyway ?

Not Rui's problem then...

Chelsea cut off the ball to Jonny so he had to go that way. Better that than Rui shanking it to Hazard.

We've just drawn 1-1 away at Chelsea. Yes fucking CHELSEA and people still want to point score. FFS give your head a wobble

Can a mod fix the thread title? My bad.

Can a mod please change it to

Chellsea (A) - By Tredman

:) :) :)

If this were my thread it would be a lot briefer.

Talking of needing to give their heads a wobble, Sarri post match comments are delusional.

Like his forward pass that started the move for the goal? Or the wonderful one for Jota were he handled it? His passing was generally very good in a game that didn’t allow for him to get on the ball often. He did one with the outside of his right foot that was simply gorgeous to Jota in the second half
I've credited him for those tbf. It's not a matter of 100% accuracy or 0%.

Like I say, he was good. It was only ever a minor quibble.

You gave him a six!! :D

Ultimately we have played 10 games v the top 6 and taken 10 points from those.

The last couple of times we were here then any points gained were really a shock to the PL fraternity - they aren't this time (& we are coming home from away games against some being disappointed that we haven't won -which is not something I would have expected this quickly)

Suspect, given how the season has gone, that we were not now the first choice for Liverpool for the last match (even if they are at home) especially if they need a win to secure the title (& it's only between them & MC now)

interesting the last two games of the season

City is Brighton
Liverpool is us

What money a Wolves v Brighton cup final?

Last time in the prem we won at Pool beat Chelsea and beat spurs over the two years but we never played the football we have this year. We didnt fluke a point here today. We came with a defensive game plan that nearly brought three points against one of the best sides in the league on their own patch.

My MOTM today was Donck. I love the funny shaped Belgium. He is everywhere. Summed up that he is almost level with Raul when he scores and his starting point was our own area as he defended a Chelsea attack.

Today for me seemed to mirror so many of our poor performances versus weaker sides, with us in the reverse and more than worth more than we ultimately got. Thought we were fantastic in the way we set up and pressed and blocked at the right times, always looked effective going forward too. I said elsewhere that Chelsea in this current state (as appreciate they started the season well) remind me a lot of the Owen era Liverpool, in that is their star man doesn't save them (Hazard) then they'd be down in mid table.

The last time we were here then got points, but always felt that they were really unexpected ones.

Not today (or the draw away at Arsenal) and just a bit disappointed that we didn't end up with 6 from those 2.

The level we are at is 'chalk & cheese' to previous attempts

Today just emphasised that this group are prepared to do the not so glamorous stuff in the game. Sounds mad saying it but don’t think we’re a million miles off Chelsea especially with their upcoming embargo’s.

When he runs he reminds me of Fernando Gómez, You know that rigid spine run like somethings been inserted :)

Hard for me to pick a motm, they were all fucking heroes today, if pushed I'd go Moutinho, don't know how he keeps going so hard for so long and stays calm on the ball, the mans energy levels and stamina amaze me every week

Anyway - we were tremendous today. Well worthy of the point at least and possibly more. Eden Hazard has got them out of jail.
