Championship Squad 26/27

I would rank this as the least enjoyable season (so far) since I started following Wolves. Even a relegation scrap in the championship would beat this shit show. We would occasionally win a game at least.

At this point I just want my club back, if its in the second tier where I followed Wolves for all of my childhood then I take it over this joyless soulless experience. We have just tried to rehire a guy we sacked less than 12 months ago for him to turn us down. It's beyond parody at this point.
O'Neil turning it down has just about made it less horrific than the Bhatti era.

If you want some more positives, considering how much home grown talent we lack, then our incoming signings are only going to be journeyman Champ "quality" players like the EPL "quality" we signed this season. This play will be filled with even more joy when the players Wrexham would reject sign here.

Without a doubt.

I backed us in 2004 and 2012 to do well because we retained players who were previously very good in the Championship for us. As it turned out they were gone, either physically and/or mentally, and we were as a result terrible.

I don't like any of the players who will still be here in August and I don't think they'll look good in the second tier, they are shit. They're not your Jason Koumas or Adam Armstrong types who are too good for one league but not good enough for another, they're bad footballers.
Especially when you consider the differences in the league.

Its a cliche, but im not sure we have the sort of players who can perform on a cold January night in Hull. When you look at the team we had the last time in the Championship even the 'elite' players (Neves, Jota) had a sense of grit about them. I wouldnt trust this lot to do the hard yards of the Championship.

Sad thing is Haggers I’ve been going to Molineux since the 59/60 season and I agree with you

Things are that horrible currently I haven’t been able to look at the league for ages. I know Arsenal are top and city are somewhere near the top.
I know we’re 8 points from safety and that’s it where anyone else is I haven’t got a clue.

Lopez will go back to Spain on loan to try and give him game time and prove his value to be sold at a later date.

I think this happens with more than people would expect. Loads of them would be loaned overseas in an attempt to lower the wage bill and rebuild some resale value would be my thinking.

With such loans covering their wages will be the best we can hope for, so no incoming fees to buy replacements next summer. All good rebuilding their value but we’ll need replacements and we’ll go cheap and cheerful at best. The teams that bounce back at the first attempt usually keep a decent number of their squad and our problem will be the ones we want to keep won’t want to stay, and the rest won’t want to go because nobody will match their wages.

The solbakken/Saunders season was a worse experience for me.

The only way I can see it being better is because it’s happening in a higher division.
Still won 14 games in 2012/13 and got 51 points which would keep you up most season.
On a week by week basis this is worst for me as we just keep losing.

Many years ago there was a fairly short lived thread on here called something like 'Who are you?'
Everyone stuck a photo of themselves, with a brief job description, age and a couple of other interesting bits.
It was really good in that it gave you a face to the poster and just made it a bit more interesting and personal.
There were a few surprises right enough.
