From the BBC: Traore is like someone playing Fifa when they don’t know what the buttons do

As Jon Champion correctly said: a Championship game in Premier League wrapping. Dreadful game that neither side deserves to win. C'mon, Nuno; fire us up for the second half. We're much better than this.

It's been a poor game so far, no real sustained quality for either side and an awful lot of direct stuff too. Good finish from Doherty to make the difference, rules are rules but to my mind there's no way a saved shot should be an assist, I would personally only consider it an assist if there's intention to create a scoring chance for someone else.

Saiss looked a worry early doors, first two times I noticed him was clumsily going through the back of people to give away cheap freekicks. Not really had anything to do since then though and seems to have a lot of space when in possession.

Traore has been in Bamba's back pocket all half, barely given him anything to really worry him but the interchanging of him and Jimenez is at least providing some variation.

Costa has had a few determined runs but nothing to show for it.

Everyone else pretty much done what they needed to do but I wouldn't say anyone having a particularly good game, such is the standard of the match as a whole.

I mean it is better than last week, but not by much. We're basically out Cardiff-ing Cardiff, at the moment.

Aside from the header for the goal, Jimenez has been pretty bad, nothing's sticking and he's misplacing passes all over the shop. Same with Costa, except he also has the hump since he feels he's being hard done by. Not a good combination and I'd say he needs to come off, I would have Jota on there tbh.

One mental slip aside Boly's been immense.

If we get a 2nd (dear god, please let us get a 2nd) we should have this wrapped up.

Stupidly harsh based on the half he just had. One awful moment when he had the chance to get by Manga but has been the pick of the front three so far.

all these negative comments and here I was thinking "wow what an improvement over last week" :icon_lol:

I think that's due more to Cardiff than to us.

Poor game, but I'd take more of the same for 3 points. Adama has been the best of the front three, considering they are all feeding off scraps. My worry would be Saiss and his penchant for fouling people in dangerous areas. Still, we are winning, so far so good. Jota on for Costa would be my only change at the moment.

Think peeps are massively underestimating the conditions.
Of the front 3, when Raul gets it you at least know that he will have some strength/nounce to hold off a challenge.

Sick of Costa cutting onto his right foot instead of getting to the byline.
Neves doing well for me, taking up some good positions to try spread the ball for us.

Front line not fired at all so far - we are better than we were last Sunday so there is an improvement

Need a second as can see Cardiff scoring, but only 1

I do think Adama is worrying Cardiff at the back though, they don't know what he's going to do, just like he doesn't know.

Costa has been so bad it's unreal.

Definitely, it's been vile here (I'm a few miles north of Cardiff) all day. Nought but wet and windy, and it's the same this evening.

And then Jiminez fucks up a simple layoff to put Adama through in goal. Just too many simple mistakes lately.

That's a penalty and a yellow card if Atwell's ref. Given he loves calling a Doherty swinging arm
