Bristol City (A) FA Cup 3rd Round 11/01/25 12pm

Could look foolish come 2pm. Hopefully we come through it with no injuries as we're already looking very thin at the moment..

Interesting. Hate just downgrading the keeper as it’s ‘what you do’. Only position where the first choice player won’t get injured by playing and threatens to let down everyone out there who is risking it.

I know he's shit but he isn't a rookie we've thrown in...been in England squads and plenty of experience, let him earn his fucking money and step his game up

I can see it both ways as it's also the one position that doesn't get any game time at all, so having a degree of matchday sharpness appeals. That said Bentley and Ruddy must have cost us 4 or 5 cup matches between them since we got promoted to the PL

As I said at the beginning of the thread, every single interview Vítor has had since he joined has been about “building confidence”.

Not surprised to see him go strong. Maybe didn’t expect him to go with a full first choice 11 (bar the keeper). Fair play - hope it doesn’t bite us on Wednesday!

Strong line-up.
Cannot afford to lose this game as confidence will take a major knock.

Glad we aren't throwing in the towel. We should have enough this season for a cup run and survival, but I can see it both ways given after our next 3 league games are tough and we could easily be back in the relegation spots.

RAN at LCB is and always will be shite. He was absolute rubbish in the first half last week.

Usually I'd agree with you but our defensive options from Monday night to now make me very nervous.

Looks like the standard 3 atb to me.

................... Johnstone

....... Agbadou - Bueno - RAN

Doherty - Andre - Gomes - Rodrigo

....... Guedes - Larsen - Hwang

Probably is, but in the way Syco says, although Doc as the lch is far from ideal

It's possible but I'd be getting a bit worried about Vitors sanity if he goes with that. Doc has already showed he's better at RCB than he is at RWB and young Gomes was pretty good last time at WB. You'd also lose most of RANs strengths.

Take the point but I’m only going on the few times I’ve seen him in the flesh as I’ve never paid any attention before. On that basis he looks out of shape and sht.

I'm yet to be convinced he's any better than Bentley so far but nominally at least he's our number 2 which seems to be the preferred option in goal for cup competitions and not just for us.
