Big game really, not for our season because that's fucked already but for Edwards. We've got Liverpool & United away next so if we lose this we're going into a situation where he might've lost 8/8 going into a January window where we need to make some big decisions on players and need to be sure that Edwards is the right man to take us forwards. Fuck what Jackson said in that WM interview, if he doesn't win a game soon he'll be gone and he'll have nothing to complain about.

I'd like to see us be braver on Saturday. This isn't one of those games against Arsenal where dreadful, no ambition football can be excused away because of the opposition and the situation we find ourselves in, this is Keith Andrews' Brentford at Molineux. We need to go out and win the fucking thing.

Show us you've learnt something from the previous 5 games Rob. You've taken off one of your back 3 for a forward player once we're losing in every single game so far. You've picked Strand Larsen 5 times and he's given you 1 acceptable performance. Hwang has given you none. You might want to change something about those things.

Some good news though, this might be the last time we see some of these rats wearing Wolves shirts at Molineux. The more of them that we can get rid of in January the better.

Our best of chance of a win, Brentford are dreadful away (7 defeats from 8) We need to be proactive, positive and go for the win. More of the same, 5 at the back with 3 defensive midfielders would be appalling to go with. I don't see this being a classic

Really difficult game to predict - anything from 3-0 to 0-3, though obviously 3-0 is the least likely.
We do seem to perform better away from Molineux and the longer it stays 0-0 the more likely we are to lose.
Tolu, Lopez, Arias to start please, but expect JSL and Hwang.

Brentford losing 2-0 to City atm. They've gone with this team tonight.

I think Edwards could lose out for the rest of the season and carry on. He'll be judged on next season, not this one. Which is the right thing to do - Wolves are an absolute shambles and we probably need a complete clear out (of players) to remove the lingering stink of defeat. Use the time to evaluate who to keep who could do a job in a lower division. And who's willing to stay, of course, because as ridiculous as it seems I bet most of these players don't see themselves as the problem.

If there's a winnable game left, it might be this one. If we're on the back foot from the kick-off and show no attacking intent then it'll be another long game. No more of this "try not to lose" stuff please.

You almost want two teams. One for Molineux, one for away fixtures. You can’t set up how we did v Arsenal in a home fixture v Brentford - it just won’t work and the crowd will give you pelters.

I’d go -

Johnstone
Doc Yerson Agbadou (Toti if Agba’s not available) Wolfe
Gomes Krejci Andre
Fer Mane
Tolu

Sod waiting 12-18 months to judge him!

He doesn't have a complete free hit for this season, if he doesn't want this season to count he shouldn't have taken the job till June 2026.

Regardless of how fucked we were before he even came, if he can't motivate and organise and suss players out now, and even win a single point, he's not magically going to acquire those characteristics once the season ends.

From our point of view definitely.

From Shi's no way, he won't sack him this season.

I'm sorry but there's no way. Nobody loses 27 games in a row and keeps their job.

There's a situation where he loses 10/10 and we go out of the cup at home to Shrewsbury. Jeff could sack him then and he'd be 100% justified.

If he literally can’t win a game he’s toast. And rightly so. Regardless of the definite and peculiar drivers to keep him at all costs, the logic of needing a throat to choke for a CEO under pressure is simply too compelling.

Oh! Yeah, what Lycan said 😂

I'm interested to know the percentage of folks who have suggested he can keep his job regardless (not just on here) are actually invested in season tickets. Easy to say this when you haven't put up the thick end of £1000 to lose every week. That isn't superfan stuff I'm not a STH anymore but I think it's flat out disrespectful to those who invest time effort and money to be told nah it doesn't matter if we don't compete.

You'd hope if Edwards couldn't win a game he'd have some self respect and walk but I suspect that won't be true.

Id also wager this season will do such a number on Edwards psyche that (and ignoring what we think about his actual capability) he'll be broken goods come August anyway.

I think Shi's threshold will go far beyond ours.

He spent 4 million to get him in and he is the last yes man managers about for Shi.

Of course if we lose 27 more games he will be gone, but we won't do that, we'll pick up a couple of wins and a couple of draws and that will be enough to "justify" RE getting to the summer in Shi's eyes.

Shi is completely deluded, I think that is underestimated.

What i think will happen and what I would do myself are entirely different things, obviously.

My interpretation of DW's question was that there are people who THINK themselves we should keep RE regardless.

I know what you mean, apart from the losing pretty much all games scenario, I also think it's only if relationships between RE and the players and/or fans went really toxic that Shi would act this season.

And Edwards doesn't seem that kind of figure in the short term

This season will do such a number on Edwards that he'll be psychologically cooked.

You don't come out the other side of this, after being ritually dicked game after game after game, suddenly refreshed with a spring in your step ready to go in a really tough division below.

I think he'll be gone before Spring and that Rui Silva will be put in charge.
