Brentford 1-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Not seen proper replays & seen only through beer goggles, but was Costa not head butted (albeit gently) before he retaliated?

Not excusing DC, but should both have gone?
Yes they should. Mee did exactly the same first but it didn't even get mentioned.

For a Premier league club you couldn’t imagine or write this stuff…..we are the only team with our main striker seemingly gone awol, one on a season long loan, our showpiece striker now banned and we’re talking about an in experienced U23 leading our line…..🥴
You forgot the big summer signing who lasted 45 minutes and did his ACL on his debut!

I’m not as confident as others that we won’t get cut adrift.

Leeds about to beat Liverpool.

Watched Fulham v Everton earlier and even though it was a goalless draw, both played much better football than we do.

Bournemouth pushed Spurs close today and somehow score a fair few. Their expected dip hasn’t happened yet.

Leicester are improving & ran City close today.

Palace, Brighton, West Ham are all better than us.

Villa are rank but with Emery incoming, they’ll improve.

I’ve got us and Forest down as the worst two teams in the league by some distance, and although unlikely, if Forest find a win against Arsenal tomorrow then we’ll be bottom by ourselves. I don’t see it improving any time soon, so if anything, I think we’ll be a fair few points off 17th by the World Cup break.

We need to win games like today.

We’re only 6 points behind Liverpool after 13 games. If you’d told me that would be the case at the start of the season I’d have thought we’d be doing pretty well!

I tend to agree as I’ve said so many times we don’t score anywhere near enough to get of this.
Unless there’s a dramatic turnaround in that trend we’re not getting out of this.
Today was an opportunity to pick 3 points but we didn’t.
I don’t buy we’ve got good players so should do better we’ve got an imbalanced mess who’re completely impotent in front of goal.

We think Podence is good but he doesn’t get in anyone else team in this league bar Forest and maybe Saints. Hwang and Guedes probably don’t even get in theirs. Adama is Adama. Our players aren’t very good.

10th down everyone’s a much of a muchness.

Yes, we’ve been very poor on the whole, but Forest are rank, Villa similar, Bournemouth, Brentford, Everton, Southampton, are not better than us and Leeeedzzzz are just a Champ team on speed

We have no god given right to survive over that lot but lose Neves and we’re basically screwed, not getting a competent manager soon and we’ll be down.

I think we'll be maximum 5 points adrift come the break.

Next two for bottom 6 with predictions would leave us bottom on 10 Points, 3 Points adrift.

This is it there’s a good reason why we’ve gone 16 league games without managing to score more than once.
I make it 11 since our last away win in the league.
A lot of our forward players aren’t PL quality.

I think come the resumption we’ll continue to drift further away. The goal scoring problem is pretty deep set and won’t be resolved not as if we’re missing hatfuls of chance every match either.

Speak for yourself. A couple of bright moments amongst a sea of falling over, giving the ball away cheaply, feeble, usually scuffed, shots and some more falling over with enough play acting to put him in with a chance of a BAFTA leave me thinking he is miles short of good. In years to come this is how he’ll be remembered for his time at Wolves.

I don’t think he is. But it’s a view amongst Wolves fans that he is.

Better than some of the alternatives but he s isn’t good. Passenger out of possession, repeatedly scuffs good opportunities, even when he hits them cleanly there’s barely enough power to trouble keepers at this level. It’s like he only stuns the ball rather than hitting through it with his micro legs, but other short players can still hit it…

Takes risks and is “creative” but constantly gives it away or loses it in bad areas. Too weak so easy to nullify. Never actually beats a man with his skillz but when he does he runs it out of play.

Was shit for Sporting in a farmers league - zero goals. Then 1 in 5 for Olimpiacos is a worse league.

Then there’s all the rolling on the floor just to piss you off even more.
