Mr Speaker on the night of the 13th November, after a long day of organising the vaccine roll out and the changing of staff in Downing Street, I went to my flat to settle down for the evening. My wife was relaxing and playing music to soothe young Wilfreds teething troubles so I went to bed. It was unbeknown to me that members of my wife's court had to visit her that evening on top level Animal Charity business that couldn't take place outside of Downing Street due to our son's poor health. This work event therefore took place and whilst I can see now that it may have fallen foul of perceived rules of the time, and the Metropolitan Police who may I say Mr Speaker do a fabulous job of protecting our great nation, concluded this too and issued fines to all present, I still believe that I personally did no wrong in sleeping in my own flat whilst work business was taking place. Whilst accepting the fine so that the police don't have to spend any more time on this matter I have concluded that, as the arbiter of the Ministerial Code, No's 10 & 11 Downing Street are both my home and my work addresses and as such Mr Speaker I was always at work events or sleeping and have no way of avoiding being in those buildings at the times in question. I have therefore not misled either yourself or this house Mr Speaker and will continue to get on with the job of delivering the peoples priorities that I was elected to do.Wouldn't he have to resign for misleading the house if that's the case?
standard. the FT have a story today reflecting concerns uk ports are unable to cope.Natalie Elphicke manages to keep impressing me with her levels of stupidity. She's blaming Brussels bureaucracy for queues in Dover rather than her own governments flagship policy of leaving the EU.
Oh, now he is. But he effectively won the Brexit vote and the last 2 elections.Megamind Dom is about as powerful as a Steve Corica tackle.
if i recall correctly, cummings claimed that when they thought it might be worth approaching farage about a combined brexit effort, farage was only interested in how much funding they (the brexit party?) would get out of it. so they didn't bother with himLast two? Wouldn't say he had anything to do with May winning in 2017 (she didn't even win, really).
Brexit in itself won 2019, he didn't have to do anything. He's very much a one hit wonder, the Lou Bega of UK politics if you will. He is also indeed a complete weirdo.
Also Farage (yuck) played a large part in Brexit winning, as shameful as that is for us as a nation, and he and Cummings have never had anything to do with each other, there's a genuine mutual loathing there. Personally I'd chuck them both down a massive well and let them fight it out.
It does help if you sign treaties if you understand them before you sign them.
