Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

I hate her and her legacy.

But she had the very basic trait of not being afraid to surround herself with able people who might not necessarily agree with her. You need that in any environment, let alone a Government.

Imagine that, being more of a sociopath than Thatcher. That's where we are with this idiot, and he has nothing positive to make up for it. I mentioned it the other week and it's a drop in the ocean really, but it still staggers me. £900k for someone to say "no, you can't build a bridge between Scotland and Northern Ireland and here are the thousand reasons why, along with the thousand reasons why it would be a waste of time even if you could". That kind of nonsense should be scrubbed out by having people there big enough and qualified enough to say "you're being a fat fool, shut up with this rubbish and get on with some proper work". But there's no-one.

Megamind Dom has said recently that he kept having stupid meetings about Big Ben chiming on "Brexit Day". That's the kind of rubbish he's interested in. Utterly facile.

You and I disagreed over Thatcher for many years when we were both younger and I was still a rampant Tory. We did it in a civilised fashion, but we always disagreed! She was a global behemoth, a political grandee even if you despised everything she stood for.

I have to say with the way the party has gone, the purge of those with genuine ability and the statesmanlike demeanour of the likes of Ken Clarke, the party can never ever have my vote again as long as there is a hole in my arse. There must be thousands and thousands like me. That is the legacy of this absolute fuckwit. His eighty seat majority high water mark will be gone forever. If he is still in command at the next general election he will lose, horribly. And that's why the party will bin him eventually.

Thatcher had people like Malcolm Rifkind, Chris Patten, Ken Clarke and John Biffen in her Cabinet. They wouldn’t have stood by and gone along with Johnson’s behaviour. Now we have a Cabinet of spineless, nasty people who are happy to defend the indefensible on a daily basis. I can’t help thinking that most of them know that the next PM wouldn’t want many of them anywhere near their Cabinet. The best example must be Dorries who wouldn’t have been considered as a minister by any previous PM in history.

So is it time for my weekly PMQs should be good comment?
I think questions from Conservative back benchers could be more interesting than the exchanges with Kier Starmer. Johnson will hind behind the Met investigation for any party based questions.
Unless Starmer challenges him to repeat the Jimmy Savile comment he'll have to go in on the cost of living crisis, wasted billions on PPE.

Bullshit bingo - vacillate, jabber, European medicines agency, fastest growth in the G7, levelling up.

I do think he needs to mix it up a little this week, or he risks the "all they care about is the parties, while we're trying to address the cost of living/gas/Ukraine issues" retort will definitely start to cut through. Apparently so far this year all barring one question has been on party gate

Definitely, needs go on the attack with current affairs....the general population are already bored with party gate and asking 'what about the actual important issues of the day'

They're lying about Ukraine being an issue on the doorstep, most people don't give a toss about Northern Ireland yet alone Ukraine.

It's not so much the parties. It's deliberately and knowingly misleading Parliament and that is a very real issue.

The government pushed for Brexit because, sovereignty, so surely they are all just thinking "it's in Europe, fuck 'em" anyway but lets try to look "stately"

Gove has stated that the Government had to hustle for PPE in trying to justify the £8.7bn of waste.

*So if Gove is Delboy, Rees-Mogg is Rodney, who would fill the other characters?

*Stolen from LBC.

Trigger - Raab?

PMQ's back to it being a waste of time today.

As mentioned by others a week or two ago, Starmer needs to challenge the lying bar steward on his figures of the fastest vaccine roll outs, relaxing the Universal Credit taper not being a tax cut, biggest growth etc etc.

He needs to be better than he is, he's far too scripted and rigid and can't think quickly enough on his feet to challenge the lying fat twat.

Gary Streeter (Dad of one of my best friends) has sent a letter in. See, lobbying can work for good as well.

Johnson is genuinely dragging good people through the mud, the wanker. His arrogance knows no bounds.

personally the longer he hangs on, the more he drags the whole party down. As this creates the potential for another 1997, if labour can become a viable and strong opposition, as the tories could be very widely all tarnished by the fucking prick and his sense of entitlement.

Given my personal politics/abhorrence for johnson, then him clinging on like trump tried to retain the presidency could have a silver lining.

No, fuck that. He's absolute poison and hopeless, I don't want him to spend another day as PM.

I'll never like a Tory PM by definition but I don't want someone who's actively chucking the country into a skip for his own personal benefit, day by day. He's a complete scumbag.
