Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

He'll get away with it and people won't give a shit.

I’m not so sure. There are too many people that were prepared to turn a blind eye short-term because Boris was seen as a very quick fix to a couple of very sticky situations. There’s no defence of any of this and his actions are way beyond palatable for anyone other than the blind faith nutcases.

He’s served his purpose too so it’s hard to see anything other than him being toast.

I don’t you can get away with the flat. He would be proven as misleading both the investigation and the house. Both are automatic red cards basically. The 1922 committee would have little option.
Were automatically red cards.

I watched Peter Bone on politics today yesterday wheedle, whine and moan about how the Tory party are being unfairly treated. They are all complicit and care for nothing other than clinging on to power - they've sold their soul to Johnson and that's that. You could say the same for the people who voted for them too.,

Alex - I didn't know who was paying for the flat decorations. Brownlow was trying to set up a blind trust and even though he informed me that it hadn't happened yet he said that the funding was still in place so I asked no further questions. On finding out in February (through press reports) that a trust wasn't set up and Tory donors were paying for it, I immediately settled the bill in full.*

Unless Geidt resigns I think he'll get away with it.

* I'd still love to know where he suddenly finds a spare 100 odd grand when he'd been pleading poverty for years. It was rumoured last year that he was looking for donations to pay for a nanny.

In October 2017, when he was foreign secretary, the Sunday Times reported that he had told a friend he was running out of money and could not afford to live on £141,505 because of his "extensive family responsibilities".

In 2021-22, Boris Johnson is entitled to a salary of £79,936 as prime minister. He is claiming £75,440 of it.
That is on top of his entitlement to his salary as MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, which is £81,932.
So that's a total salary of £157,372.

ultimately isn't it the pm who makes the decision and applies sanction? If that's the case, I agree with tredders (;))
he will try to cling on.
Sadly the ministerial code is enforced by the PM. Means he can get away with saying and doing what he likes

In all other countries of the UK there is a rule written in that if you knowing mislead the house you're fired.

But not the main UK code.

About time that was changed.

I watched that too. Bone was a disgrace, barracking, lying and whining away at other guests and just being an utter arsehole. It wasn't a different point of view he had that was being argued it was his behaviour. It was shockingly poor.

Jo Coburn was pathetic in her attempts to get him to behave.

She should've warned and then booted him from the show.

I usually quite like to watch it with lunch but yesterday was appalling, the Labour guy was far too nice and Jacqui Smith has gone a bit weird - fair play to her for being the only one to stand up to Bone tho.

The Labour guy had nowhere to go, he couldn't really say anything as Bone was just being a prick so going toe to toe was never an option. The presenter should've bought him to heel but she didn't.

As you say fair play to Smith accusing him and the Tories of dodgy deals as that just lit him up more and his behaviour got worse.

How people vote for this clown I'll never know

Stuart Sport R Troops Anderson has blocked my missus on Twitter because she posted a crossed fingers emoji in response to someone saying his seat was in danger if polling trends continued.

Big mistake, army boy. Because no-one messes around with her, she's one of your constituents and cutting off a means of communication without good cause is a very bad look, and I have nothing better to do for a while than bother you. I also for some reason have a fairly large local audience. So really, two options.

1) Grow up, undo the silliness and say sorry
2) I'll spend an inordinate amount of time tweeting about you, writing about you, telling the media about you, phoning your office, coming to your office, and so on.

Let's see.

I have no doubt he will have to be pushed rather than him walking. By all accounts he has few close allies, he's tolerated as he wins elections. A good kicking in North Shropshire might galvanise a few backbenchers if events don't come to a head before then. Brazen as they are I suspect Lord Geidt's resignation will be enough for a number of Tory MPs to turn on him.

I agree with your principles, but I don't think the turn to boris was short term. I think he, and they envisaged sunlit uplands everywhere. It would be a walk in the park, a doddle. fiddle with brexit, ensure things were set up to make a mint themselves, then walk away before it really started tanking, accepting no responsibility, shifting the the blame a la cameron.

it hasn't turned out that way. he's now unsure of his exit strategy. to simply say "fuck this" would ruin a lot of future opportunities for him.

carrie is another kettle of fish as well. she has too much invested in him staying there.

I agree, don't see the blue rinse brigade voting for someone with a brown face. They'll need a unity white candiate. I hope it's Truss, not as fundamentally evil as some of the others, completely stupid, it'd be quite entertaining and give Labour a reasonable chance
This absolutely appears to be a thing. If Starmer can't beat that, it's an open goal which would make Diana Ross blush

It won't. They aren't electing a none white leader
I think they're more pragmatic than you realise, they'll want a winner over anything. There's also the fact it might not get to a vote of the members, as happened when May got it. If I knew you in real life I'd offer you a bet!

They know which way they are kicking, that's not with an Asian leader, simply isn't going to happen. It'll be Truss or Raab. Won't be Gove as the party (rightly) hate him
