Saw Da Bears win too. Last night then over night Amtrak to Memphis tomorrow.

When in memphis, find and go to a bar called blues alley.
Best ribs you'll ever eat and unbelievable live music. Saw Bonney Rait there before she was famous, totally superb.
Call and check about booking at blues alley. I had a music company i was doing a deal with who booked me in, and good job too, there was a decent queue.

Just back from a hiking holiday in Slovenia - what a beautiful, verdant landscape, and some panoramas that will stay with me forever.

Triglav, the set of peaks on their flag (and twice the height of Ben Nevis), is vertigo-inducing just to look at.

We are already doing a river cruise that includes some port and wine tasting. Will probably just take a leisurely walk around the city for a day.

Off to Cairo for 6 days in November. Planning 2-3 days there, and 2-3 days between Luxor and Aswan. Have done Valley of King's before when I was in Hurghada, though partner wants to see it this time. Any recommendations beyond the obvious?
