Beer

Trip next week* and booked in to do the tour on Tuesday

*as long as the wife has recovered from the chest infection that has floored her.

Fantastic. What a place, hope you amazing time.

The beer is everything you’d expect it to be and more, but if you’re looking for somewhere nice to eat one evening I can’t recommend Au Petit Grand highly enough:

First class food and wine, beautifully cooked and served in a place with understated elegance. Probably about a third of the cost of an equivalent London restaurant too.

Very romantic Bruge, go all out and embrace it. Have a great time.

Don't think it will help make the game enjoyable but have a few and you might forget about it.

Not one I've come across previously that. That's the joy of Belgian beer though in that it's possible to never have to drink the same beer more than once.

Currently drinking a tripel Karmeliet.

Tried on Friday night before the cricket, ABV seemed a bit heavy to open the night but the lady behind the bar gave it some spiel about being the best beer in the world, maybe even claimed that title 8 years on the bounce? So I buckled and had a 1/3 - was beautiful to be fair, solid recommendation.

'Best beer in the world' is probably OTT, but it is a very good Russian Imperial.

I think it had that reputation because it was so hard to get hold of as it was made it such small batches before Grain Brewery started producing it.

Just make it 500ml. Makes sense since that's the closest measure that cans/bottles are sold in.
