Beer

Just been given 12 cans of Duff beer from a supplier. German brewed 'premiun' lager - 4.7%
Anyone on here sampled it before?
Remember seeing Duff beer being sold in tourist shops in Prague. Surprised they hadn't been sued by Fox.

I had a pint of Jaipur for the first time last weekend and is I agree, tremendous. Now drinking a bottle of Gold Star from West Berkshire brewery which will appeal to anyone who likes Enville.

Had a pint of Timothy Taylor - Boltmaker last night. Didn't like it at all, much prefer Landlord. Quickly switched to Williams - Caeser Augustus which was fantastic. Best drink of the night was either a wee dram of Lagavulin 16 or Oban 14 though. Gorgeous whiskeys.

Having a pint or two or three or four of Liberation Ale in The White Horse, St Helier.

Yes Frank and it is still a cracking pint and considering that I am in Jersey, a reasonable price of £3.15 a pint.

Having a bottle of Hobgoblin Gold - very nice.

I've died and gone to heaven. The Lamplighter, St Helier. Fucking awesome. Over a hundred malts! Numerous cask ales.

I'd be happy to drink craft beers from a can.
No trips to the recycling bank, cheaper too.
Plus, get more in my drinks fridge.

A bit like screw caps are to corks in wine bottles... the same type of snobbery.

Beer in a can is fine.

Provided you don't want any sort of decent beer and you just need to quench your thirst.

It's not snobbery, you just can't get real ale in a can. Technically impossible.

Village beer festival tonight

Oakham Inferno - brilliant as usual, one of my favourite beers
Windsor and Eton Knight of the Garter - disappointingly bland for a beer described as hoppy
Pot Belly Pigs Do Fly - very drinkable
Brewster's Stilton Porter - a very rich, cheesy end to the evening

Not sure about a cheesy beer.

The Cocker Hoop in the Lamplighter was spot on last night. The pub is a finalist in this year's CAMRA list.

I'm getting ready to return to Jersey this teatime! There is a beer festival starting in St Helier on 16 September!
