Barnsley 1 - 3 Wolves: "And we didn't have to pay 15m for this one!" Verdict Thread

What, you saw that particular clip and still can't tell who is fouling who? You're entitled to your opinion but I find your statement incredible.

IMO Mowatt had no intention of playing the ball but targeted Price, and it was such a bad challenge I hope he gets a long ban.
I watched it a number of times. I was only talking about the very first time I saw it and my initial reaction.

Just watched the highlights.

Red was nailed on.
Penalty looked nailed on too? Can't see anything Bright would have been pulled up for? A foul when the first guy fell over maybe, but looked like he just slipped to me. Definitely soft.
Edward's first header would have gone in, would have been lovely to see him get a hattrick.
Shout out to Burgoyne too for making himslef big for the save at 1-0. Good and important save. He'll be disappointed for the goal we did concede but he's learning and we won so nevermind.

Tbh I think I have to go against the crowd here and say I think the linesman's made a perfectly reasonable decision there - that looks like a foul by Enobakhare to me. He pushes the Barnsley defender down by the shoulder, imo. It's soft, but you see them given.

I'd say that's good refereeing and the officials working well together. He doesn't see Bright's foul (debatable as it is), so gives the pen 2 seconds later. The linesman makes him aware of the foul so he gives it. Looks bizarre, gets a lot more publicity for obvious reasons, but for me good officiating.

The majority of criticism for Edwards pretty much since Jackett took over was based on him playing notionally at Number 10. In that role he offers a few goals and nuisance factor, but isn't going to effectively link play between midfield and attack nor create much himself. He more than merits a place in the position he currently plays in which also enables the manager to pick a player with some or all of the above attributes at Number 10, be that Mason, Weimann, Bright or Ronan.

He can barely send a man on a run with a half decent pass, without the goals what is he. Nothing. It's a bit different to Ward-knockin'. You say it like playing him further back means he doesn't have to link up play. I know he's a good head and he is popping up with goals - fair play - just hope we can replace him at some point. Quality > sentiments.

Suppose a young keeper will always be prone to making mistakes, but if your going to make a mistake, being 3-0 up in the last minute is the time to do it.
