Villa had a decent start but I think we had a better second half of the half.

Pod is looking right up for it and I'd say on balance we've had the better chances/worked Martinez more so far. That said, you'd be surprised if many goalkeepers let our shots on in, so still much more room for improvement.

Clearly an instruction as their best chance of scoring is from a set piece.

This is clearly their game plan - fall over whenever possible, hope they can get something by bringing mings and konsa up.

Despite the comments from Glenn we've been the better team overall - clearer chances created. Bookings will help us get on top in midfield. Semedo isn't great in a 4 but we already knew that.

It’s been an ok first half - we look stretched which will probably always be the case with a back four, and lively up top without really creating great chances.

We’ve had the better chances. Against a worse GK or better quality/luck from us we’d be winning. Rui hasn’t made a save. They’ve had nothing apart from lumps into the box or Grealish getting by Semedo.

Marcal - in a 3. Donck - in a 3 (also first choice CM!). “Meant to be great”. A third of the price of someone who “isn’t ready” and as an enforced sub against us is probably the only game he’s played CB in a 4 in his entire career. He even says himself he’s not ready for CB!
