Aston Villa (A) 30/3: Build-Up & Match Thread

After the first 20 minutes we've completely lost our way. Villa look comfortably on top now.

Seems like Kilman should’ve been able to get his head on it, but to be fair, I wouldn’t have wanted to head that thing away either. :ROFLMAO:

Watching in the pub but with no sound. Was there much comment about the free kick? Looked…. very soft?

Not particularly, they discussed the amount of pressure and bodies we have been getting around him on particular but that was about it.

It’s Hinchcliffe on co-comms so they’re absolutely gagging for Villa to win. Was no mention of how soft the foul was.

Also, ask the bar staff to turn the sound up.

Impressive that we had a man on the line covering the part of the goal the ball was heading to and it still went in.

I wonder when I’ll stop thinking about us turning down £30m for Kilman.

Fact remains when you’ve got your entire front line out you can’t give up chances like RAN did. Villa eased their way back into it gradually.

For all the horrific defending on that free kick, I don’t think they’ve offered much from open play, not seriously.

We just have nothing going forward; Lemina and Sarabia can’t do those jobs.

Unfortunately that's what happens when you don't have anyone in the final third capable of putting the ball in the net.

GON and that first 30 mins performance deserve better, but we were let down by Hobbs and Shi in January.

This is the Cov performance all over again (from the striker position). Harsh on the youngsters they've thrown up top as they just aren't ready. They don't move, press or work in with the rest of the team and it's shows they've most likely not worked enough on their specific duties.

The main concern for me is not just throwing away the promising positions we had with the cup and league, but we are going to rush the returning players back because we look so devoid of quality without them.

Started OK then just been dominated by a better team who we are better coached with a far more expensively assembled squad.

I’m just more depressed at how our season will peter out and it isn’t really the coach or the players’ fault
