I don't get why everyone seems to be in favour of 3 (or 5 if you like) at the back these days. Largely the same who wanted Coady gone as we needed to move to a back four.
With what we've got now we'd be better playing four at the back and asking Semedo and Ait Nouri to do their jobs as defenders whilst playing two centre halves and asking them to do the same. Make them fucking responsible and not pass the buck. This would allow us to bolster the current midfield two (Andre and Joao) who are being overrun every week. Besides which it might allow us to play through the midfield a bit more and link the currently marooned fron two , Cunha and JSL.

I don't disagree with you, but the manager has made it very clear he's playing 3 at the back and 2 in midfield so it's pointless anyone suggesting anything else

This is certainly up there in terms of games I’ve been preparing to go to, certain in the knowledge of the outcome. I remember going to watch us play Derby in 2008, absolutely certain we’d win with no shadow of a doubt. Suffice to say it’s not such an optimistic belief today.

Has VP left it open to interpretation as to whether Cunha is in the squad today? I’m pretty down so it’s hardly a logical hunch, but I suspect we won’t be seeing him.

My only hope is my own woeful record of predicting the score

Remember that game very well, one of my favourites. It was bloody cold but that second half performance warmed me up.

Must admit I've not seen anything that suggests Pereira is leaving Cunha out?
If so we really are stuffed.
