I think I’d actually rather see anyone other than Podence at the moment.

He’s been pretty awful for as long as I can remember.
Mate 50% of your recent posts have been slagging Podence off, I know he's a shadow of his former self but I cannot for the life of me think of a current player who isn't, yet you particularly dislike him with a passion ?

Equally, Think it’s weird how quick people are to say he’s shit etc.

he’s played poorly since returning from injury. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we have rushed him back as we have been short of wide options all season (poor squad planning).

He’s just in bad form. He’s a good player. Very exciting to watch when he’s in form too. If we can get back to point where he is a squad option (like a couple of others), we will be doing alright

Didn't he have trouble getting down on one knee before kick off a few games ago?

To call him a coward is equally as silly I think
Not the way he's played the last couple of weeks. He turns 60 40's in his favour into 40 60's, by slowing up and letting the defender win the ball. As I say, I think he's carrying something. If not, he absolutely is a coward

Podence just doesn't look right to me. I have no idea if he's 100% fit or mentally right, but I'm willing to bet he isn't.

If he’s carrying something (he isn’t) he shouldn’t be playing. Particularly when against Burnley he was 0/10 and whatever you think of MGW or Vitinha they would offer more than that.

Our of form or mentally not right are much more feasible explanations. And both of those mean he shouldn’t be playing as well.

I completely agree. Whatever the reason, he’s in the team because we don’t have any other wide options (other than playing a kid or someone out of position).

Should just play the team we finished with, or along those lines anyway.

He’s basically playing a free role floating around. Surely this is MGW ideal position?

Maybe coward is the wrong word, but it looks like he is afraid of getting hurt again - for whatever reason.

Do you honestly think Nuno would tolerate that if it were the case?
No, I think he's playing with a knock, but if you take Punts' view that he isn't then how else would you explain a player who constantly ensures he avoids a challenge despite being favourite for the ball?

Podence has not been that good since returning from injury, why?

None of us know.

He is a good player, but for some reason since he came back he has been way below his previous levels.

I am hopeful tomorrow we relegate them, they are 11 points behind Newcastle and Burnley, if Burnley, and Newcastle get a point that puts them 12 Points behind with 15 to play for if we beat them given there inferior goal difference that sends them down.

Relegating these wankers will just about recover this season.

They won’t be mathematically down. We just can’t do that. Effectively but not the absolute final nail.
