The new manager will see Lambert's report to the Board. No reason not to trust it, at least in relation to those players Lambert was prepared to ship out.
My main concern is that younger players like Bright and Ronan don't lose out.
There is more chance of Dicko and Bod scoring than Lambert being sacked.
I like the guy, I just about get the accent, and I think he talks sense. He seems to have the dressing room with him.
Change is not always a good thing. If any club should know that, it's ours.
Our midfield is basically crap, but also maddingly inconsistent. Evans, Price, Saiss - one game good two games bad. At least Saville and Edwards are consistent.
All credit to Dave yesterday - his persistence set up the winner.
We dont really know who Thelwell bought in or not. But it's no big surprise that he's pro the local lads. Lambert appears to be the same.
Maybe there's been some dressing room tension with the foreign signings. It would be surprising if there hadn't been, given how many came in so quickly.
It...
Surely we have enough faith in our midfielders not to have to go 4-5-1 against Wigan at home ?
Let Evans and Ronan do the heavy lifting, Bright and Costa provide the skill, and Bod and Dicko the missed chances !
I'll go for this :
Ikeme, Iorfa, Batth, Stearman, Doherty, Evans, Ronan, Costa, Bright, Dicko, Bod.
If we can't be positive in our team selection for a home game against Wigan, we might as well give up.
I thought Newcastle were rubbish. We were the better team. No real complaints from me about the performance.
Like Siggy, I was gutted when Bright went off. Every touch he had was a good one. The kid is a real talent.
Unfortunately, I can't see Dicko scoring from inside the box at the moment...
I apologise for saying that we could make the top six.
If we can't try to play attacking football on the ground against mighty Burton, what hope is there ?
No excuses about fatigue - we have a big squad for just that reason.
I like Lambert's squad rotation policy. He seems to have a core of 18 players and he tries to keep them playing regularly, which is important for harmony as well as performance.
He has to go in the summer unfortunately. Almost inevitable that we'll get an offer too good to refuse. Both for the club and Costa's own career development. Trudging around the Championship no good for Costa or his value.
If he stays fit, I reckon we'll make $10million on him - a nice war...
