Yeah, Broadchurch 2 was pretty awful. A shame as the first one was very good. I can't really see where they can go with it now but will watch it anyway.
I would imagine most Remain voters would like to see our relationship change with the EU as little as possible, as they didn't think there was much wrong with it in the first place and that this would produce the best long-term outcome for the UK. It seems unrealistic to expect them to become...
Would the purdah idea extend to not referring to Brexit as a "liberation" and a temporary suspension of "jokes" about having beaten the Germans twice already?
I don't think we can really complain about the rhetoric of the EU's leaders when our own foreign minister refers to Brexit as "liberation", which is just a tad loaded in a European context, isn't it?
Quite possibly fake: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/feb/22/why-a-viral-video-of-a-cyclists-revenge-on-catcallers-may-not-be-all-it-seems
Disgusting. Preying on the emotions of us bleeding-heart liberal lefties like that!
We went to this a few years ago when they didn't have quite so many big names on the bill. Great little festival. Surprised to see British Sea Power so low down on the bill. They're nearly the same size font as Cabbage:icon_biggrin:
I think pretty much anyone for whom freedom of movement was a major issue would have voted Leave anyway. I never once heard a Remain voter cite this as a factor (not to say I heard every one of them), and pretty sure no-one at all was relying on D-Cam's negotiation skills to get the vital...
To say you're going to protect the NHS and then to appoint Jeremy Hunt as health minister is a shockingly bizarre decision. Almost as bad as when he appointed Fantastic Mr Fox as Minister for Poultry Welfare.
I haven't noticed any party making a thing of it. And surely it should continue to be exposed and dealt with? (Not a comment on this particular case, though the chances of a UKIP MEP NOT abusing his/her position seem vanishingly small to me.)
I think as we have a news media that is broadly supportive of the government, the criticisms that get made a lot of on here will barely register with most people as they don't get aired in the wider world.
Using my mum as an example again, she's not a Tory voter but she reads the Mail, and...
But it would appear that enough people approve of what they're doing (or don't give a toss) to keep them in power for the forseeable. Obviously the lack of a credible alternative isn't helping in that regard.
Well, there are two festivals... the Berlinale (offical festival) and Belinanal (gay porn festival).... I suppose I could have got them mixed up, not being a native speaker. :gayrepost:
My Berlin trip coincided with the Berlin International Film Festival and we managed to get tickets to one of the English films that were showing. Never been to a film festival before, all very exciting.
It had to be a completely random selection as it wasn't easy to get tickets. The film was...
