Welcome to Wolves Marshall Munetsi

Nothing on his headed duel ability tho

Just imagine if he'd taken four or five of those chances he's had in games....

Definitely feels like many TWF members don't take the importance of this seriously.
I think some can’t look past his poor finishing and often poor first touch. Having made up their mind they don’t want to consider what he’s actually good at. Reality is that if he had more technical ability he’d probably be at a bigger club. He’s frustrating but nevertheless plays a key role in the side at the moment.

Can't you have both opinions at the same time? I see his benefits but also think he's a poor footballer.

Exactly what I said. The original point was some people are only seeing the poor footballer and give him no credit for his excellent pressing.

He's poor technically, absolutely. That doesn't necessarily make him a poor footballer as he clearly has an understanding of the game and his role, and is able to perform that role very well. A poor footballer wouldn't be able to do that.

Not too sure I agree with that.

His role is quite rudimentary and relies on one key attribute, a good engine.

To a certain extent but also he does seem to know what his attributes are and plays to them, currently that's working well for us.

Ok, my poor wording, I meant he's poor technically, even to quite a basic standard. His other attributes are useful atm.

I don't think it's as simple as that. VP has himself talked about the intelligent runs that he makes that make space for JSL, which has coincided with JSL's best goalscoring form of the season. So either you can believe VP when he says that, or you can convince yourself that all MMM contributes is a lot of running.

Managers/ head coaches say lots of things... some you agree with... and some you don't.

Invoking what a manager says doesn't make your argument sound or the others persons viewpoint redundant.

Going back to the previous incumbent I found most of what he said total horseshit!

Poor footballer, good football player.

Plenty of the inverse out there, too.

(Waves at Ricardo Quaresma)

Addendum: probably worth pointing out that it’s probably easier to make a career as a Quaresma than a Munetsi. Which is to Marshall’s credit.

The difference is, VP is saying this during a good run of form. GON was talking bollocks whilst we were losing every week.
