Redknapp’s a twat, he gets away with far too much because the media love him.
 
Again with Redknapp I’m absolutely amazed how people can’t see through him. His east end cheeky chap type character dupes a lot of people.
 
He's not really relevant any more, approaching a decade since he managed anyone, pushing 15 years since he was actually successful and he doesn't do mainstream punditry. There's nothing to be duped about, he's an old retired manager.
 
It's racism, pretty simple. He's called him a Nazi and likened him to someone who got the death penalty for treason. Don't get how anyone can like that dickhead.
 
Not sure why people expend energy getting outraged over a near-80 year old making a few ropey xenophobic comments while showing off. Hardly even news really
 
It was a joke at the time, but I don't hate the idea personally. However I also agree with many others that it devalues the quality of the competition. I'd rather a process that offers the top 16 nations a bye into a last 32 stage, which could be the group stage. Not like qualifying as it is now, but more like snooker where it happens immediately before the competition.
 
Just have the top 32 teams qualify as they do now for the world cup and maybe have a '2nd division' world cup finals for those that don't.
