The Road to World Cup 2026 and UEFA Nations League

Very dominant performance second half, Ireland were just putrid even with the full quota on the field their aim was to just stay in the game with zero intent on causing any problems for England.

San Marino win again this evening, 3-1 away to Liechtenstein (first time they've ever scored 3) and have been promoted in the Nations League
They’ve now won more games this season than Wolves…

Up the ‘rino!

World Cup qualifying groups draw seedings:

Pot 1: Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria.

Pot 2: Ukraine, Turkey, Sweden, Wales, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Norway.

Pot 3: Scotland, Slovenia, Republic of Ireland, Albania, North Macedonia, Georgia, Finland, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Israel.

Pot 4: Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Belarus, Kosovo, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Latvia, Lithuania.

Pot 5: Moldova, Malta, Andorra, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, San Marino.

Scotland have been done dirty a bit there, were in Nations League A so had much harder games in this cycle, qualified for Euro 2024 unlike Greece, Sweden or Norway, but ended up seeded below them.

Apparently England are very likely to have one of the 5 team groups so Tuchel's first game in March will be a qualifier rather than a friendly.

We're damn lucky to be seeded in Pot 3 . There are some teams in Pot 4 that I wouldn't be one bit confident of beating . We are improving , but it's slow and you need a lot of patience .

I’m assuming those involved in nation league play offs will be in groups of 4 and those not will be in groups of 5?
