Wordle

Case in point: in American English, for reasons best known to... Someone? Anyway...

"Hotchpotch" has morphed into "Hodgepodge" over here.
Don't start me on "dull as dishwater"....

Bloody hell even with Bears tip the one online was a proper head scratcher

Or "the proof is in the pudding". No it fucking isn't.
Y’all out here pretending like Brits English ain’t got any stupid sayings.

Gonna have to type in my natural fuckin’ accent from here on in, y’all heard?
😉

Don't start me on "dull as dishwater"....
That works on both levels, language does evolve and dishwater is more relatable than ditches to everyday life
Or "the proof is in the pudding". No it fucking isn't.
Guilty as charged on that one, mind you we can talk in proverbs until the cows come home to roost....

Like TT, I always go with the first word that randomly pops into my head.

The worst Americanism by far is "I could care less".

That's the opposite of what you mean, you clownshoe.
Is that an American thing or just a dumbass thing?

I always start with either LATER or STARE.

Most common mix of vowels/consonants I reckon. Then try and weave in D, O and I.

Saying bring instead of take always bugs me

Got it in 3 today, but really wanted that guess to be wrong. Not the way we spelled (spelt?) the word growing up, but it's okay in scrabble and they do have to appeal to all English speakers.

Are American spellings becoming more widespread over there?

Nope. You'd never ever see "favor" or "color" in any UK-based publication.

Dove is starting to creep in instead of dived......pisses me right off....more than it should
