Wolves 0-2 Brentford

It's nothing compared to being there, but watched the full game at midnight after a long fucking day and Jesus it was miserable.

Our attempts at attacking are so baffling...Andre on direct free kicks, J Gomes our main ball carrier deep in the opposition half trying to make things happen...what the fuck is the plan here?

The only other thing we have is shit crosses from the left by the cunt up top's mediocre mate. Great.

Hearing the fan's bringing the old songbook out was a fucking gut punch too.

I think the fan/player relationship is going to get even worse btw, you can bet one or two of them will start biting back soon and escalate it

Just watched the 'highlights' on MOTD, noticeable that the players look defeated even as they walked out before the match. They have forgotten how to win and look mentally shot.
This is interesting. My wife, who looks for the positives I should add, made that exact point as they walked out yesterday. Heads down. Defeated before they kicked off.

There are lots of good, reasoned, posts that point out why Edwards will be around for a good while yet. But if you judged him on his ability to lead or potential to do so, you’d get rid this morning. And you wouldn’t ever regret it. So much of yesterday, which was a new low point, was directly on him.

Of course, we won’t get rid. I have no expectation of it happening at all. But if I was in charge I’d do it first thing. And it would be better for him too.

I don’t think a new guy appointed in January would be that tarnished by the relegation. Why wait for him to get in?

No, don't agree with this. It's still 5 months of getting humped with a dross squad.

This season is cooked and the priority for me is to replace the 12 year old Jeff clone now in charge and have someone competent and credible at the helm (if that's actually plausible), for them to then employ someone equally competent as DOF or equivalent, and then think about a manager.

That's not all going to happen by next month, probably won't all happen this season

You’re not getting a decent replacement in January so we have to stick with Edwards. He’ll start getting serious abuse if he sets us up with a back 7 again but he’s made his bed and will have to lie in it until about Easter, maybe earlier if Easter is late this year. Hopefully we have a replacement lined up for the day after the ‘R’ goes against us and Edwards is jettisoned immediately.

Oh I know, it's easy for me to write what I think should logically happen, but fans (especially those at games) are right in the middle of it all.

Any scenario from now on is going to take months and months and be slow and painful, and we'll all still be here after Edwards, Fosun and these fucking players have all moved on.

I just think we need some kind of credible foundation for it not to drag on for years and involve another relegation too

Two double drop relegations, three successive relegations to the fourth tier and in all probability the lowest point to total in top flight history. Wolves fans certainly know about the rough more than the smooth.

I know it won’t work like this but my argument for making the change before January would be giving a new guy a window in advance of the summer. Sell Gomes, Larsen, Andre and anyone else we can get fees for and try to create something resembling a balanced squad for the championship.
