Probably, He would however, get some money to spend and probably inherit a bigger squad. He would also likely get a pay rise.He would get another job, he wouldn't get a better job.
welcome to the dark side obi wanAny club that's got a semblance of a decent squad and going to be giving the manager money to spend is a better proposition than us this summer.
Particularly if we lose João and Ruben.
I can see him walking
Call me crazy but I think we're a better team under Bruno now than we were with Nuno.
Nuno's best season came with a pre-injury Jimenez, Jota up front, plus Neto as well. We still struggled to score goals at times and were mainly counter attacking.
I think with Bruno we have a better defence, because the purchase of Sa allows us to play a bit higher. We play better possession football too IMO. And we still are getting results just as good as under Nuno but without such a potent front line. If Bruno had a fully fit Jimenez/Jota/Neto as a front three I think we'd be top 4 material.
This really. Under Nuno pre-pandemic we were basically a top six performing team - genuinely! I think people have got short memories over this because of how poor we were last season both performance and aesthetics wise.We made an FA Cup semi-final, a Europa League quarter final and twice finished higher than we currently are in the table.
You're crazy.
Also Raul is basically the same now as he was pre-injury, I wish people wouldn't peddle that. We create less for him so he scores fewer goals. He always had shit games before, loads of them.
He really isn't.And Raul is half the player he was in his peak, goals or not
It’s a really hard comparison to make. Yes we had two consecutive 7th places, the Europe run and the semi under nuno. However I’d argue nuno had a better team as we haven’t strengthened and are arguably weaker than we were then. Factor in other teams spending and strengthening, West Ham becoming what they are etc another 7th place finish would be a greater achievement now than under Nuno IMO.I don't think it's far off tbh. Bruno's best eleven is nowhere near what Nuno had to work with.
And Raul is half the player he was in his peak, goals or not
There's an odd correlation between folk who are keen to stress what an upgrade Sa is on Patricio and those who seem to forget their own strong conviction when trying to argue our squad is worse than it was in 18/19 and 19/20. Not that odd maybe...!
