What are you currently listening to....

Five Finger Death Punch.

Until now I've avoided them because their silly name meant that I figured they'd be shit.

I really should have listened to them earlier...

Thankyou Spotify.

Huw Stephens piano sessions on radio 1.
Ludovico Einaudi live in the studio!

Just recently, I've been getting into Joy Division, as they were one of those bands that I've never really listened to before. I know a bit about New Order but not Joy Division - and having given both albums and the various extra tracks they did, I think they're absolutely awesome.

Straightaway, I realised just how many bands they influenced over the past 3 and a half decades. Great stuff.

I've never heard of that track - I'll see if I can find it. My favourite of theirs - by quite some distance - is Atmosphere. Absolutely beautiful. The production on that track is unreal.

It took a few listens before any of their stuff particularly grabbed me (except Atmosphere which I liked the moment I heard it) but it's quite hypnotic. And his voice suits the music perfectly.

i think leaders of men may have originally been a warsaw track.

it's very different to atmosphere, which is more well known and an awesome song. so no guarantee you'll like it.

I got into Joy Division a few years back after watching 24 Hour party people (great film even is Shaun Ryder wasn't impressed!)

A brilliant band who produced some amazing work.

A good one for today. Still their best song IMO.
