What are you currently listening to....

If that ship hasn't already sailed, it's certainly halfway down the slipway.
If she starts listening to Shygirl you may wanna have a chat with her 😂 😂 😂

All new music sounds the same anyway

that's bizarre - i find new stuff i like every year. what I think is true is that you can spot connections with songs you already know, after all there are only so many note combinations.

i look at it slightly differently - you have a certain capacity in your brain and if you clog it up with shit like genesis you'll have no room for anything new.

So what are peoples music genre on TWF. Mine is the Indie scene from late 80s early 90s. Mostly the Madchester era.
It constantly changes. I grew up on rock and metal (Guns n Roses, Metallica, Pantera, Led Zeppelin, Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins) and still listen to them but I dont align myself to a specific genre anymore. My top 5 genres currently are:
  • Electronica (Dub Techno, House, Hauntology)
  • 80s (Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, The Smiths, The Cure)
  • 90s (No Doubt, Rollins Band, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Blur)

Grand Hotel - Procol Harem. Erm.......I`m very old.

Think my first gig was Suede at Wolves Civic, the Coming Up tour after Bernard Butler had left.

I could have gone to a few before that but I dragged my heels for some reason.

Dio at the Aston villa arena was my cherry. Lock up the wolves tour.

Mud, Monchengladbach.

Les Gray was the main man but being right at the front remember grabbing the hand of the guitarist, the guy with the earrings.

Heady days.

Went on to co write can't get you out of my head by Kylie. Perhaps you inspired him?

Rob Davis? Went on to have song writing and producing career, wrote for Kylie and others, weirdly did a lot of club/dance stuff.
Nothing wrong with Mud and most of the glam rock stars, it was just fun, catchy pop music. (Don't mention GG though)

Edit, TT, fastest finger

Slayer and Nuclear Assault Hammersmith Odeon South of Heaven Tour September 1988.
