West Ham (A) 27/9 Build up

I don't have the numbers, but it feels as if West Ham have won 100% of their attempted tackles.

We clearly need more impetus in midfield. Look at Soucek Vs Neves or Moutinho. We do not have anyone making any runs and overloading the box.

It's early days but we look so disjointed.

Overall not that impressed by Semedo, rough game to judge on though.

It's an odd season with no pre-season and new signings needing to settle. The same story is happening at clubs like Manchester City. Nothing to be concerned about at all.

Even the fake crowd noise is mugging us off with an ironic cheer.

Fabio has not looked anything other than a rabbit in the headlamps so far. I really hope it clicks for him soon. Next 15 mins preferably

Absolute fucking shite from Neves. When did he last hit a decent shot?

No one seems confident enough to shoot. This is abysmal stuff.

Hopefully Jeff gets straight on the phone tomorrow and buys a new left back.

If we want to make this new system and philosophy work we still need someone protecting the back three, or you get massive gulfs of space in front of them like tonight.

Neves can take up the Moutinho role if he wants to play further forwards, and Donk has to come in to the DM role from now on.

Please pass the crack pipe. I need a lift.

I don't really understand why Donck was dropped? He was fabulous against Sheffield United.

This has been crap and plenty for Nuno and his staff to analyse to work out what went wrong

Most definitely doesn’t make us a bad team over night :icon_lol:

There's a lot for him to analyse. If we are going to have more possession we can't play like this, it leaves our centre backs isolated and they aren't good enough. We need mobility and protection but also can't play with our front players so wide and not connecting. There's a lot wrong with this performance.

Neves sums up the night. I was having a decent weekend too until this.

I wouldn't be too concerned if it wasn't for the fact that we've been in this situation too many times now, where we just fail to create enough chances. The only positive tonight is that the new lads look pretty damn useful, Hooever (sp?) And Vitinha (sp) especially look comfortable in the team

This is extremely harsh.

He, Vitinha, and Hoever have showed a spark if nothing else. God knows we needed one.

We've never been particularly easy to open up, that's the big concern for me

We certainly don’t look like a cohesive unit - unusual for us.

Really don't think whatever Nuno is trying to change is working. But i haven't managed to watch a game yet :(

Love someone to explain how my confusion at our performance and change in playing style is an outrage, but these three similarly normal critiques are just fine

Hoever looks excellent so far. Mature beyond his years.

Phrasing is key.

There is. As I say, it doesn’t make us a bad team overnight.

We had some awful games at the start of the season, Nuno corrected somethings and then we were brilliant for about 4/5 months consistently

The change in style seems to be Saiss almost stepping in to midfield sometimes to dictate the play further up. If teams hit us on the break we're f'ed.
