Welcome to Wolves Vitor Pereira

There was a period were I thought GON knew what he was doing and we'd struck gold...

Embarrassing now.
It's basically three months or so.

We were dog muck at the start of the season, then very up and down for a while - had we lost to Chelsea on Christmas Eve then we were bang in a relegation scrap. Won that thanks to Chelsea having Sterling and Broja up front (should have been minimum 3-0 to them after half an hour) and then went on a roll up to the Cov game. And did in fairness play some good stuff, even if a lot of it boiled down to "give it to the good players" and Hwang being on a purple patch that he had never pulled out before and will never pull out again.

Then utter unmitigated shite after that for nine months.

His "good" run isn't much longer than Solbakken's was.

I wonder how different things might have been had we beaten Coventry (it wouldn't have taken much to win that)

Probably just lost to United in the semi.

Hey, Gary never punched a hole in the dugout. Ståle's still got that going for him.

Tbf he doesn't look like he could punch a hole in a paper bag
The more I accept my disdain for him the more I’m realizing that he’s got English rat-face to Bruno F.’s Portuguese.

I fucking hate it when managers throw players under the bus.

If he doesn’t get a job in the preseason merry go round, I’ll stick my neck out and say he’ll never get another, his name will be touted like Pardew was for vacancies, turn them down as he’s waiting for a better offer, or a closer team, five years on he’s just a quiz question and nowhere near football.

Thing is, I think he genuinely considers himself to be a Premier League manager and that Championship jobs are beneath him but I can't see Premier League clubs queuing up to hire him. I was of the opinion when we hired him that no other PL club would have done so and since then he has shown himself up with the shit show earlier this season and Vitor has further shown him up with what he has since achieved with largely the same group of players.

Since leaving us he was offered the Millwall job which is his boyhood club and fairly close to his family home and also rejected Blackburn as the £600k salary wasn't worth getting out of bed for.
He has this week been linked with Norwich, one of the clubs he played for.

I think he may need to lower his expectations if he seriously wants to get back into management

Big time.

So if Glasner leaves Palace for Leipzig (the vacancy is there, if you can deal with them being a soulless husk of a club then clearly it's a step up in terms of what you can hope to do) then he would definitely apply for the Palace job.

But there is no chance they would appoint him.

Millwall was 5 mins after he got binned so can understand that.
Blackburn only a fucking idiot would take on a job there.

I think he will get a job and he won't be precious about it. Fully expect to see him in the Championship.

He has been fairly quiet since leaving us and that suggests he has put his head down and doing the classic travelling around and observing others to educate himself.
Expected him to be a Sky regular to try and remain relevant but he has gone the other way.

He stayed at least 3 games too long for the 'sold their best players, tough start', narrative to hold. That'll stop him getting a PL job, he'll be managing in the Championship by Xmas though. Don't know if he's been linked, but both Norwich and Albion are suckers for the type of football he thinks his teams should play.

Think Albion will be put off with us being his last club, they don't mind signing players with a bit of detachment from us (Lescott, Sako, Andrews etc) but not a direct move.

Watford would be my bet when the owners realise that Tom Cleverley has been there for over a year and excuse me my friend, but what are you still doing here. It's a sound job to take as whether you're good or terrible, no-one blames you when you get sacked, it's just what happens.

Personally I don't give a shit where he goes. He's a nice enough guy who was out of his depth in adjusting to tough times. Anyone can manage when results go your way but he was quickly worked out by opponents after his initial successes and then he lost the players.

Norwich seems about the right fit but I'd really love him to see him in the WBA job. That would be a lot of fun to watch.
