We've got a match tonight!

From Rob's presser:
  • Angel Gomes and João Gomes are both fit and available - Edwards said they’re in a “good place” and training well.
  • No new injury concerns were reported at the press conference.
Specific player context
  • Matt Doherty has seen limited minutes because he’s still feeling pain from an old knee issue, according to Edwards.
  • Hwang still injured
Reaction to the Crystal Palace defeat
  • Edwards described the 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace as frustrating, suggesting Wolves deserved something from the game.
  • He emphasised a positive training reaction after that defeat and said the dressing room showed passion and anger - which he sees as a sign players care.
Looking ahead
  • Edwards wants his players to show what they are capable of, especially with three fixtures in a week coming up (Villa, then Liverpool in league and cup).
  • He stressed the importance of bringing energy and passion, especially in the home fixture against Aston Villa.

Racist abuse incident

  • Edwards spoke openly about the racist abuse directed at striker Tolu Arokodare after he missed a penalty against Palace. He called the abuse unacceptable, detailed how the club is supporting Arokodare, and noted the Premier League and authorities are involved.
  • While not a primary focus yesterday, there have been hints in the lead-up to fixtures that rotation will continue given Wolves’ run of games and prior changes to the starting XI.
Predicted Starting 11

Bellegarde Andre

Shows the absolute apathy towards the club now.
Villa at home in the premier league and the build up thread only started 5hrs until kick off.
I’d forgotten it was tonight until this morning.
Will probably put myself through it again but fully expecting another defeat and a comfortable one.

I've no idea why but I'm actually looking forward to this one, maybe its cos we've been so shit for so long, I dont think it can get any worse🤪

I think last weekend was the final straw for me, if we couldn't win that game then I don't think we'll win any. Second game we've lost this season to a side not really trying to win.

I'll be glad when tonight is over then Tuesday too. I am only going to both games as I have a ST but sick of it now. Not going to the cup game next Friday, can't be doing with 3 evening games in a week

Setting off for the match now. Not doing next Friday, can barely take this one :(

I actually tried to post up the thread for today’s match but it wouldn’t let me.
Ever the optimist it wouldn’t surprise me if we actually won this evening.

Be nice to win as I think this will be the last time we play Villa for a while.
Sunday was really irksome v a club that might well be in our situation very soon.
RE gets the “what if” excuse from our happy to be here fanbase.
Blame the red card, blame the none red card and if that penalty was scored it would be all different.
Worst case scenario is a close run defeat, people are that fucking stupid that they think being nearly good enough will do.

Beating these and simultaneously going past Derby and harming their top four ambitions would be the high spot of a diabolical season but I just can't see it.

We'll huff and puff and Villa will win without ever being in much danger.

Villa are missing a few tbf.

Tielemans, Boubacar Kamara & McGinn.

Still comfortably stronger than us.
