TWF favourite 3 spectator sports other than football

Athletics
Darts
Snooker

Was a good athlete as a young boy, good darter when’s young adult and now a shit snooker player now I’m an old git - enjoy watching them all

Rugby Union
Cricket
F1

Outside of wolves I’m not really bothered about watching football, much rather watch all three of these (and probably others too).

Cycling
Rugby union
NFL

Cricket would have been number 2 easily a few years ago but I've drifted away sadly. Boxing just misses out.

Sidecarcross! Seriously watch it, they're nutters.

Surprised none of you are into fighty mcfistycuff sports.

Cricket - though I don't have Sky so not much watching these days.
Rugby Union - internationals only really. No real interest in the club game.
Tennis - men's only though. At the risk of losing my liberal elite membership, women's tennis is fairly dismal to watch.

But will happily sit and watch pretty much any sport. Cycling, athletics, swimming are all good when they're on.

Its difficult to narrow it down top three as I enjoy watching most sports.

Cricket
Rugby Union - As SLA, just the internationals
Golf - The Ryder Cup and the Masters are spectacular events. Outside of the majors I don't care much for it. It annoys the hell out of me when its reported on the radio they spend ten minutes telling me what Rory Mcilroy is up to and then a little mention at the end as to who is actually winning the event.

Rugby - both codes and both club and International. Sadly though apart from highlights it tends to be Internationals mostly these days.
NFL - I watch more of this now I have Red Zone available and it's fantastic to watch. Chess with 150KG men
Cycling - Road more than track as I do like the scenery and history that goes with the sport. Not so much the drugs.

I used to love watching the cricket and golf but now both are hidden behind paywalls I lose interest and find other things to spend my time on. Whilst I understand SKY money is good in the main for sport it will end up killing minority sports in the end just from a sheer participation level as the sports become less and less well known.

I was gonna make a joke about how complicated football is, but then I remembered the time I tried to explain the offside rule to my dad.

The offside rule in soccer is the same as most sports including American football. If a player is in front of the ball when the ball is played (in AF case, snapped) then they are in an offside position.

Favourite sports to watch, and play are very different lists for me. I love playing bowls, and spend a fair amount of time playing golf (in the summer - fair weather player me). I never ever watch either though, as even I find it boring. I get confused hearing team mates going to watch bowls matches, and even following online streams of tournaments!

So if I were to list my favourite 3 sports, it'd have to be football plus those 2.

Hopefully Parkin has my back!

That's pretty a simplified version of things, IMO.

Cricket (level par with Football)
Rugby Union
Rugby League

Those of us that debate on the cricket thread know how much I enjoy the sport so much so that the summer months without football pose no problems for me.

Cricket is the one sport I used to love playing, (I was in the school team - medium/fast bowler), but other than the Ashes I can't watch test cricket as it bores me to tears. One dayers or 20/20 is at least watchable to me.

Complete opposite I can easily watch ball 1 to the last ball of the day comfortably, obviously not often I can do that due to work or the mrs getting pissed off at the weekend.

Rugby Union
Darts
Hurling

But basically anything involving a ball or people (& horses) racing against each other I will happily sit and watch all day

Just Cricket really and even then I don't follow it that closely.

I do like NFL but again I haven't followed it closely for a long time and I don't really know much about the players nowadays.

Football is king. The most popular sport in the world for a reason.

Rugby (both codes, preference for RL)
Golf (when the majors are on)
CrossFit (there’s a curveball)

That's pretty a simplified version of things, IMO.

That's the rule Alan. Best to keep things simple for people that don't understand the sport to begin with.

The complexity in soccer arrives in whether a referee deems said player is influencing play. That is subjective. As far as I know in both American Football and Rugby being offside is punishable wherever you are.
