Top 5 Bands of all time?

Listened to Down's second album on the way back from Devon on Sunday. It's a fucking awesome metal album.

I just wish metal bands of that certain era weren't seemingly so obsessed with being... campy?

I'm here for it, to an extent. Just a lot of groups tried to ape that shit, some successfully, others less so.

It's a turn-off for me these days tbh.

Will throw in Sabaton and Nightwish as must listen to bands also.

Only if you like rock music, if you’re a folk or dance music man they won’t be classed as such

He did write them, the music anyway. Bernie Taupin obviously wrote the majority of the lyrics.
Kinda my point... I suppose he could have played his piano for 2 and a half hours ;)

If you want to go by that metric I’m pretty sure you’ve just slashed the length of every solo artist’s gigs by 90% or so!

My cousin is an enormous Mr. Bungle fan(Even has a tattoo on his arm relating to them) so it could be worse.

Scanner-Hypertrace
Gamma Ray-Heading for Tomorrow

These are some solid ones also.

Just unbelievably ashamed of this forum that I am going to be the one to mention Iron Maiden.

Probably Powerslave (1985). Though personally I think Somewhere In Time (1987) has become my favorite of theirs. Or Killers (1981).

Piece of Mind Powerslave Somewhere in Time is the sweet spot. Number of the Beast is rightly lauded but the three above are where they really nailed it.

They are in my top 10 no doubt. Bruce Dickinson is ageless.

Who said I don’t like Dickinson??
