The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

Good man. I have 1000'd Potter, Batman, Indiana Jones and came close to getting the 1000 on Lego Star Wars 2. Pirates of the Caribbean will have to be bought at some point. Apparently, they're working on Lego Lord of the Rings. Cannot WAIT for that.
Hadn't heard about LOTR. Excellent!

In more realistic news, have you seen the new 12min Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer? FUCK ME it looks good. The realism is just amazing. The amount of stuff you can shoot and destroy whilst looking completely real is fantastic. The missions look quite varied too. Tanks, fighter jets, etc.

The first couple of minutes are dull Basil Exposition bits.

Yeah, that looks about as good as it gets. Amazing.

That and La Noire look like being my next must-buys.

Never played a Battlefield game properly, but that just looks ridiculous. I think I'd get a lot out of it if I gave it a proper go.

The multiplayer should be great, that's what the Battlefield games were designed for. And with the single player looking that good it looks like a definite winner to me.

Last night I had 'one of those days' on the xbox.

Went on Black Ops - was put on the same team as utter $#@!tards, and played some nerds who clearly have skin the colour of Tipp-ex having never seen daylight. My reactions were Scott Carson-esque.

Then went on FIFA, and tried and tried to find a game that WASN'T against Madrid/Barca/Chelsea/Man Utd etc. Impossible. Played 2 lost 2 goals for 0 goals against 4. Boring.

So thought I'd finish on Lego Indiana Jones 2. Got to the end of a level and the bloody console froze.

So I went to bed annoyed.

Which is why I am not a multiplayer fan. I'll play against the computer anytime!

I hope I can find some decent time to play skyrim. I had oblivion and never really got round to starting it. I know it can be all consuming as a long time daggerfall/morrowind player.

Amazing Black Ops form last night. It seems lots of people have bought it for Easter and are therefore shit. That equals carnage.

2 games: 56 kills, 2 deaths.

You watch, I'll get back on tomorrow and it'll be all hardcore gamers again...

For those who have so much as signed up to the playstation network this seems very important news

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/

Essentially during the hacking of the network which has brought the downtime at the moment, all registered account holders personal information has been compromised and they are unsure as to whether this extends as far as credit card details also. They seem pretty sure that details such as name and address have been stolen though.

There will be many phone calls to banks tomorrow that's for sure. So just be careful of any dodgy emails, phone calls, post etc in the future.

Luckily i've never bought anything on the PS network so my only details on there are name, email address, etc.

I wonder what impact not being online for 1 year would have and the fact I haven't updated to anywhere near the most recent version?

I wish I was in the same boat :(

Unfortunately I would say your details have still been stolen as your version update would only effect the software of your console while all your details used to sign up (this also includes passwords and secret questions) are stored on a separate server which should have been secure.

As such, in the blog itself, Sony has also said if you use the same log in name/details and password for anything else that you should change your password for said service immediately.
This is a massive balls up from Sony, especially as it has taken them a week to even warn people of this news.

You have got to be shitting me.

Again luckily, doubly so this time, the only account i can think of that uses that email address with the same passport that would contain anything worth hacking would by my paypal account and thankfully i received an email from paypal the other day saying i could no longer buy anything with that account as i'd spent as much as was possible without confirming by bank account or something.

You have got to be $#@!ting me.

Additionally, if you use your PlayStation Network or Qriocity user name or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly recommend that you change them, as well.

It's just precaution obviously, but goes to show just how much of a ball up this is. Sony seem worried about just how much information was stolen when they extend warnings as far as other services.

I can't go as far as changing passwords for far more important services (simply because with some you can't!). Thanks for the heads-up.

Some ass hat just tried to steal $300 from my paypal account, bet he was fucking devastated when it was declined due to my account being maxed out. Dumb bastard, you cant steal from the empty account.

Had to change my password and confirm my location with some stupid automated phonecall shit but now all is good again.
