The TWF Horse Racing Thread

I'm getting stuck into the early 5/2 about Flemenstide in the bumper at Ayr tomorrow. Was expecting 11/8, 5/4. Megan is a very capable rider and has delivered for her Dad on some of his better bumper horses this season and I'd have this lad in his top five. He was a big baby on debut but powered home when it clicked and won as easy as you like last time. The second then ran respectably again against the 570k Jonbon.

I'd also be disappointed if Tamaroc du Mathan can't take Allmankind over 2 1/2 having been saved for this. I think he's a proper horse when he gets his ground, was so taken with him on chasing debut when he jumped beautifully.

Nicholls absolutely farms this meeting and is going out great guns for a record number of winners. In the words of Willie, I'm getting stuck in.

Well that was absolutely woeful from Tamaroc. Can't say I'm very confident about Flemenstide now given how the Nicholls horses at the meeting have run today. Dreck.

Well this went swimmingly. Nice of Nicholls to say after they all ran appallingly that they had a horror journey there and arrived much later than desired. You'd have thought they were all trained by Charles Byrnes they ran so lethargically.

No better trainer of a 3m chaser.

Great run from Clan Des Obeaux.

Galopin Des Champs followed up his win in the Martin Pipe by hacking up this afternoon too.

At the risk of sounding silly, and probably blind loyalty, fancy Kilcruit to reverse the Cheltenham result against Sir Gerhard shortly despite me thinking he wants more than 2m

It is no wonder the Irish routinely dot up in the handicaps when they can afford to run one in a Grade 1 with no intent on winning (100/1!) knowing that they've got the best part of two stone up their sleeves when they want it! And the Mullins yard had the 1st, 3rd and 4th in the same race! The strength in depth is unreal.

Would think Punch is only going to play to Sir Gerhard's skilllset more than Kilcruit - I'd be surprised if he turns the table on him here. Both will be proper G1 novice hurdlers though regardless.

Yeah, I think Sir Gerhard will go Supreme while Kilcruit goes Ballymore, or even Albert Bartlett

Well in Trips - he's hosed in. No excuses there. Hope you got some good £ back on him!

Umm, wow. Astonishing performance from Snowfall.

Just seen the race. Absolutely hosed up. Unbelievable

Went to Bath today. £29 for a horrendous card and no winners. Lovely stuff. Highlight of the day was the £12 bus return costing 12p.

Bring on the jumps.

Seen a brief clip of Henderson talking about Shishkin today. Says he has returned from his summer and grown massively. Says he's now bigger than Altior and is an absolute beast. Has also had a wind up as a precaution, so they don't need to interrupt him through the season

The 12.30 at Punchestown is quite possibly the 'bentest' sporting contest you'll ever see. Can only assume the 14 other jockeys involved were all on the fav.

Kilcruit turned over at 1/12 on hurdles debut.
