Perisic joining Spurs on a free. Canny signing that.

I can see Conte playing him as a RWB which probably rules them out of going back in for Adama.

James Horncastle had him in his Serie A team of the season at LB so Conte will definitely be putting him in at wing back.

Yeah he mainly played left side for Conte. Signing him early also allows them to be flexible on what other wing back they sign though as he can play both sides

Think he played LWB whenever I saw him for Inter this season, would rather use Reguilon there personally, think Perisic'e best days are behind him.

Reguilon is a bit like Semedo in that he carries the ball well and gets into good positions frequently, but his actual attacking output is close to zero. Perisic has scored 50+ goals in his six years with Inter (albeit for some of the time he'll have been playing further forward). Anyway they need options what with being back in the CL.

Seems Mané is leaving Liverpool.

Just seen Daniel Sturridge got released by Perth Glory this week. 6 games, 0 goals. Before that had spent 18 months without a club.

Still only 32, a complete wasteman.

I think it's clear he had some mentality/mental health issues, struggled to play/train through minor injuries

Neil Masters was similar i guess, and it feels that Podence may have this too

Pogo Danderfluff/Jeff will be on the phone now he’s seen that, that scoring record is ideal for us, and he’s free, so win win

I thought he'd go to Newcastle but I guess he doesn't have to move now (well not till they get relegated next season)

The latest in the line of overrated CBs wearing Everton blue...

He's on a free though? So other than adding to the wage bill (and they are losing the likes of Delph/Tosun/Sigurdsson this summer, so that will more than cover Tarkowski's contract) it has no impact on FFP.

Eventually they'll sue Sigurdsson for his last year's salary

Forgive me, but I think when a club has massively spent beyond their means for many years, they shouldn't be able to sign a new player on 120k a week?

Those three are on way more than £120k a week between them.

If it were £120k a week and a £20m fee and they didn't sell or release anyone then yes, it would be dodgy.

You miss my point, Everton shouldn't be able to continue to spent that sum on NEW players.

Why haven't they been punished? Why are so many clubs keeping their heads below the line and being careful with FFP, but Everton just treat it with contempt and carry on?

They've lost £372million over the last 3 years yet still sign a bloke on 120k a week, it stinks.

I don't understand what you're proposing though, if they're shedding £200k a week (let's say) in unwanted, unused players wages, why can't they use 60% of that on a free agent and bank the rest to make up some of the deficit from previous years? Surely that's the kind of thing they should be doing?

Unless you mean that they shouldn't be able to sign anyone ever but that messes with the integrity of the competition and besides which, I don't think there's a mechanism for it in the current rules.

As an aside - Premier League FFP has never, ever, ever been a concern for us and never will be. The club lied about that.
