Best way to sort things out, pathetic bickering like two old women does no one any good and makes threads unreadable.

Still tumbleweed so I'll assume the recipient doesn't want to dance. Shame really as I had such high hopes.

It is undoubtedly a quandary. My presumption is that when push comes to shove the vast majority will get vaccinated. My SIL works in the care sector and has to have at least one jab by the start of March, from what she says the vast majority of her peers will do so under duress
 
To go back to Djokovic & the Australians - If he doesn't want a vaccine that's fine & his choice, but he has to accept that there are cosequences to that depending on other Countries views.

Having said that Australia has tied itself in knots dealing with it.

It the 'big scheme' it's of little consequence really.

That's fine, I'll debate on the subject it doesn't really bother me. Someone getting uppity over the use of a generic term in a bid to show he's the big man doesn't was and gets a different and according response, just the way of the world.

I hope that is what happens - hopefully all these staff come to their senses. I'm just quite pessimistic, there was a story in the Express and Star recently about my local trust (Dudley) saying 1000 staff are going to lose their jobs imminently. I just can't see how the service isn't going to collapse with that level of staff losses, it was barely coping even before Covid.

But if they go into the private sector - I'm talking care here, then they will face the same barriers. I guess hospitality is an alternative

Would that apply to Drs and Nursers going into private health providers though? I'd be surprised if the consultant in the video confronting Javid had much trouble finding employment somewhere else health related, probably on a lot more money with better conditions as well.

It just seems wrongheaded to sack him when he's been working on Covid wards since the start, I can't see how it's going to help the situation. It only makes sense to me in the context of the Tories not actually caring whether that consultant is in the NHS or not, as they don't have to use it, and resent having to pay for it.

That's a very small number though. It's the caring rather than more traditional medical side where the issues lie I believe. Yes I'd sack him though

It's all very easy to say in the abstract though isn't it. Would you sack him the day before your child/wife/mother suffered an accident or medical emergency and had to be admitted to the ICU he was working in, there's absolutely no guarantee there'd be a competent replacement.

That's what's at stake in the real world when there aren't enough Doctors (50,000 short according to the BMA in September) We've got 2.8 Doctors per 1k population compared to the European average of 3.7 - surely we can ill afford to lose any more than we absolutely have to.

Anyway - this is a tennis thread, I don't post on the Coronavirus thread for this reason, my wife is pissed off waiting for me to start watching what we're meant to be watching on TV.

A long way before we are there, but a combination of Covid weirdness and her understandably getting dragged a bit too much into the celebrity world means she's in a very unique position
 
She hasn't trained much since having Covid and is likely very rusty, and the other girl got to a final against Barty last week.
 
Women’s tennis is the total opposite to Men’s. Bit like the championship. Anyone can beat anyone on their day. Whereas in the men’s the best blokes always get to the latter stages regardless.

Admittedly I’m not into tennis as much as I was so this may have changed with the top dogs in the men’s getting on a bit
 
Tennis star Novak Djokovic has admitted there were mistakes on his immigration forms and to meeting a journalist despite testing positive for Covid, as Australia mulls deporting him.
Djokovic made the admissions in an Instagram post to clarify "ongoing misinformation" about his movements.
 
Looks like he’s hoping to squeeze in his 21st grand slam then run for leader of the Conservative party.
