The Second Club Thread

Airbus - pitch at the factory next to a runway and huge planes everywhere
Mold - Debut. They took us apart and I discovered the Bala teamtalk was done in Welsh. I knew they wanted something to happen in the .midfield
Ruthin - Dont pronounce it like Ruth...they dont like that.

Others i can remember- Llangollen, Acrefair, Glyn Ceiriog (still fuming at the blatant penalty not given after I was assaulted)

Airbus are a massive employer in the town and its their football team. Welsh football is still very minor league.
I’m poking, really; I don’t know why but “Airbus <insert club name>” is hysterical to me.

Don’t think I realized they had a significant footprint in Wales tho tbf

QPR lost to Vauxhall Motors in the FA Cup a while back

Based on my knowledge of Airbus being a customer at the company I leave tomorrow, they employ north of 6000 people. Which is a lot for the Broughton area

Not even from Wales FFS!
Guy who owns them keeps trying to buy Shrewsbury. Wonder if he will combine the teams and move everything further in to Shropshire.

The New Shrewsbury (Town) maybe

Got to keep the TNS vibe.

Started in Llansantffraid but went under the Total Network Solutions sponsor name when the Welsh League was rebranded/launched

"Merged" with Oswestry Town who are t'other side of the border and went with this name to maintain the world famous TNS

The New Saints of Oswestry Town & Llansantffraid Football Club

I note a good effort by the mighty Stenhousemuir to take Falkirk to extra time. Shame they lost in the end.

Now Ochilview is an ace little ground. Being built into a biscuit factory helps. A truly captivating smell of cooking biscuits while you are subjected to some of the worst football on god's clean earth.
