Tongue very much in cheek, bud. :)

From the Guardian:

Charlotte FC

Reason to worry: Your attackers don’t have enough support

With Nathan Byrne, 31, and Jere Uronen, 29, likely to start on the outside of Dean Smith’s backline, Charlotte FC’s attacking group (which is in flux after two Designated Players moved to Europe in January) won’t get much support from their fullbacks. Byrne and Uronen averaged a measly 0.06 expected assisted goals (xAG) per 90 minutes combined in 2023, according to FBref. Charlotte don’t have the quality to afford the luxury of keeping their fullbacks deep all the time, but they don’t have the quality fullbacks to change games in the attack, either.

Clearly written by someone who didn’t really analyze the way we tried to play last season. Like, at all. Our fullbacks were never involved in buildup in that way.

Byrne actually figured things out a bit toward the end of the year, thank Christ.

We have a younger local lad, Jaylin Lindsey, who kept getting dropped because he played the position too traditionally for Latty’s tastes.

I went to see Munich 1860 tonight and thankfully they beat Hallescher 1-0. 3 weeks ago it was looking like 1860 would be fighting a relegation battle, but now, they can start to dream of mid table security.

I usually go to the 1860 Munich club shop in Munich city centre. It is not much bigger than a bathroom and has no changing room.
When I go to 1860 Munich's stadium, they have a club shop in a cabin, that takes me think back to the Wolves one in the 70's.
Well yesterday was the big day, as I had found out, that 1860's main club shop is not at the main stadium, but at the training ground, over a kilometre away. They also have their social club there.
Yesterday, I went to the club shop at the training ground club shop. I really don't know why I bothered. The good quality Nike stuff had nearly sold out and I could only get the home and away shirt in my size. I wanted to buy a few tracksuit tops, but they only had their own versions and the material was awful and was around double the price as a decent quality one, made by a known brand.
A woman who works in the shop recognised me from the town centre shop and she told me that the 1860 owner was a disgrace and was milking the club and I wouldn't find any supporter, who would support the owner of the club.
I then went to the social club and It was about the same size as Father Ted's caravan. Of course there were photos of the time that they won the Bundesliga and a few blue and white lions, but it really was a sorry state.
I left the social club after a few beers and got on the tram back to the city centre. I could never love another club like Wolves, but there is something about the suffering of their club and supporters that reminds me of the dark days at Wolves. 1860, really are a special club, that live in the shadows now, of Bayern Munich, but their is only one team in Munich for me and that is TSV 1860 Munich.

Torquay finally part company with Gary Johnson, only because the club is likely to enter administration though. Top job Gal...

Charlotte's season kicks off tonight, so be ready for lots and of spam courtesy of me.

We’ve scored and it’s a kid we “signed” from our Academy just this week 🥲

Also our first ever goal in a home opener.

Officially credited to Adi Malanda, which is almost as good!

Halftime update: we’ve been diabolical since scoring but well organized. Early days but so far Dean is mirroring his football off Dyche.

Full time: CLT 1-0 NYC

A thoroughly English performance. 😉

Some very good and some very not so good in the performance, but 3 points at home to start the season is never bad.

Not many real "highlights" in here if I'm honest, and the English commentary is bad (apologies to Lloyd Sam who I usually like, but his partner doing the play-by-play was really awful).

No way do we hold onto that result under Lattanzio. Fair play, Deano.

Also, I love Ashley Westwood. What a captain.

L’équipe does a weekly Best XI of French players globally and Adi Malanda got picked for it at CB this week. 😍

Some company for the lad!

Sorry for the continued spam. 😅

Sorry but there is nothing to like about that. Atrocious.

My Wife made me a mask using the badge when the pandemic was on, best thing for it.

I went to see 1860 yesterday and unfortunately they lost 0-1 to high-flying Ulm, conceeding a late goal in the 93rd minute. 1860 had a player sent off in the 67th minute.
I am off to Frankfurt this morning and am at at a station waiting for my train. There is a sticker on the window next to my seat, just to remind me, who Munich belongs to.

Hard fought 1-1 draw away to Vancouver last night for Charlotte. Really shitty goal to concede (almost looked like our GK moved away from the ball, but he just committed far too early).

Still, hard to be mad at an early away point against an extremely Pulis-y team in the Whitecaps. Also, our goal came from one the sickest nutmeg/dummy moves I’ve seen a minute, courtesy of “mostly poor but tries so hard” Enzo Copetti.

Plenty of good moments to take away, and holy shit does Adilson Malanda look imperious this season. Sky the limit for him, he’s brilliant. (Disclaimer: this is not a guarantee he’ll be pocketing attackers in the Prem next season 😇)

2ppg! Nosebleed stuff for the Crown.

A 3-1 defeat at Schalke for St Pauli.

Still 5 clear of Kiel in 2nd and 7 clear of HSV in 3rd (though HSV can go 2nd if they beat Osnabrück at home this afternoon).

I notice TSG Hoffenheim are 7th in the Bundesliga and I think they finished 3rd a few years ago. I looked up the population of
Hoffenheim and it is under 4000 people. I know they have a very rich owner, but do you have any idea how a club from such a small place, even with a rich owner can get around FFP and survive in the Bundesliga?

It is just basically one rich guy, though he puts less money in now.

Hoffenheim itself is tiny but they get all their support from the surrounding areas.
