The Race For The Top Four

As long as it's not too early and at 10 months it's unlikely it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe next season before he's back to his best though, difficult to get a pre season in when the rest of the players are in ticking over mode

People in rugby (both Codes) come back from second knee reconstructions now. Thirty years ago, the first one probably did you.

Can anyone with any medical knowledge enlighten me as to whether Neto is likely to come back the same physically as he was before. Also is there any risk of recurrence with this type of injury or was it just one of those freak things that can happen and is just bad luck on his part.
I think broken bones are abit different to ligament tears/ruptures.

Granted I have 0 medical knowledge, but I would’ve thought a bones a bone and is pretty basic? Granted double leg breaks etc may be different, but it’s a broken kneecap?

As mentioned by others, medical knowledge and practice has vastly improved over the years. With him being young as well, i wouldn’t have any worries. Only worry is taking time to get up to speed/match fitness etc

When I broke my shoulder blade I was told to take great care for 12 months, thereafter it should be stronger than it was before. Given Neto is much less than half my age he should be good to go with no issues.

If anyone is annoyed about not receiving coverage from the mainstream media then listening to the last 30 minutes of the Monday Night Club on Radio 5 should caution you to be careful what you wish for.

Actually, Micah Richards did make a point I hadn’t considered before: Wolves are unlikely to finish in the top 6 because none of his overpaid wanker mates play for us, he’s never watched us, he couldn’t give a flying fuck about us and we’ve played more games than all the teams around us anyway. The latter particularly challenged my own parochial views, and basic numerical reasoning, but, hey, that’s why he’s paid the big bucks.

I mean, I’ve précised a little there, but captured the essence.

Oh - they love Southampton though because “they know who they are”. Awww.

I think the key to our progress will be Raul finding his form. If we could get him back in his pomp for the final run in and had a reliable source of goals then that would be huge.

I don't understand why anybody listens to shouty man Richards.

A genuinely stupid man. But then I've got a low opinion of BBC pundits in general and particularly recent ex players.

Very few injuries these days are career enders. Medical technology has moved on to a ridiculous degree.
Think there was a bloke in the 1960 cup final who broke his leg, ended his career, quite famous name escapes me who it was, because he never mentions it

He's utter shite. Giggling moron.
The way he happily took his ridiculously high salary without playing tells you all you need to know about him. With 26 appearances in 4 years at Villa aged 26-30 you might think he prefers talking about the game rather than playing it. When he stops giggling like a simpleton you realise he’s a walking cliche.

He may be a bad pundit but it's really harsh to hold this against him, isn't it?

The implication here is that this is obvious, but I'm quite happy that I think I know exactly who you're talking about.

Mate is a big Villa fan and loathes him.

He's done really well out of the game and yet still feels it owes him a living. If he didn't he'd actually put some effort into his punditry. No idea how he got this role as he was never particularly good nor was he a 'character' during his playing days. He must have an awesome agent.

Yeah but he does have a Kris Akabussi style big laugh....that's worth a contract in itself surely

I just can't entertain a top 4 finish, I mean I'll happily take it of course, but I just can't go getting carried away with stuff like that🤣

For the record I think we'll fade away, and get pushed out, we are over performing, which is nice, but I just can't see us maintaining it and I don't think we have the consistency to put away the teams in the lower half of the league that's required to get a top 4 finish.
