The NFL Thread

Blimey. Carolina let Josh Norman go onto the free market by un-franchising him. There'll be a big bunfight for him. Hopefully the Jags go for and get him. They still have loads of room in their salary cap.
And the Washington Redskins take him.

Brady has his four game ban reinstated by the NFL

Just watching the draft build-up and have now seen footage of Goff/Wentz.

I have to say I like the look of Wentz personally.

Wentz is more naturally gifted than Goff but the step up to the NFL will be much greater for him.

That suits the Eagles as he'll start the year as number 3 QB. Given up a hell of a lot in future picks for a guy who they don't expect to have an impact this year. "Franchise Quarterback" is the phrase constantly being used

Surprised no-one took a chance on Tunsil before Miami did. One stupid video doesn't make him suddenly not one of the best prospects in the college game.

It doesn't but I think NFL fans have had enough of big time players acting the cock. Too many from Ochocinco to Tebow to Manziel is tiresome.

Americans are a lot more sensitive to off the field antics than we are over here too. You need to be the real clean cut American hero over there and anything that goes against that is a big disadvantage. Celebrities are looked down upon just for smoking cigarettes never mind doing drugs.

It's a pretty complex subject but suffice it to say that the British way of "bumping into" pro athletes at the bar or out and about town is not really a thing here. And you certainly wouldn't see one on the street and feel comfortable enough to try and chat with them (especially asking them about the team/organization/whatever).

In general, if you're winning, we don't give a flying fuck what you do. We definitely do a ton of scrutinizing of private lives, though. We just tend to bark about it much harder than we bite.

So where do they hide?

So did the Bears get anyone worthwhile in the draft?

Quite happy with Treadwell to the Vikings, from what I've read he should suit the offense quite well

He's a massive player. A prototypical NFL receiver in every sense.

Joey Bosa. Now he's massive! Not as quick as someone like Von Miller but I think he'll be a decent enough pass rusher and blitzer.

Jaguars are 7/2 at Betway to win the AFC South next season so I've had some of that. Had £30 and as a new customer get that matched as a free bet. Though as soon as I put the first £30 on the price dropped to 100/30! Wankers. Obviously not much money on that market at the minute. Still, £100 return for a free bet is nowt to complain about.

The Jags are up against the Colts, Texans and Titans. Texans won it last season with a 9-6 record. Jags was 5-11. I guess Luck can't be as bad again next season if he's injury free this time. I still fancy the Jags chances though.
