The Music Thread Strikes Back

Thought I'd chuck another track up to see if I get any likes. This is my taste when it comes to rock, a blend of punk, grunge, alt rock and some strains of metal (although I dislike metal)

I’ll give you a like! The main influence seems to be grunge to me. Not really picking up a lot of metal.

It’s simplistic and repetitive but I quite like it.

I've got all their albums so I'm looking at it from a different angle than one song. I could also put up ballards by them, although they are more Tom Waits than Jim Croce!

I’m pretty sure my wife used to like Queen Adreena but I’ve never really listened to them.

I didn’t realise it was the singer from Daisy Chainsaw though.

Currently she has a band with her husband called 'Ruby Throat'. A rather different style to Queen Adreena! Her name is KatieJane Garside. I thought she also sang lead on a Dogbones album but internet says no.

I'm listening to Dogbones first album and the lead singer sounds like Garside. Maybe the internet is wrong?

Caught these guys live at one of Charlotte's teeny tiny dive bars last week. Incredible live act and doing things with post-punk I'm not sure I've heard before.

Certainly interesting! Maybe I'll pick up an album.

I'm a sucker for anything that makes guitars go "dun-dun-dun-dun" really fast.

and a happy birthday to Guy Picciotto (yesterday)

This is a great track. I have no idea who they are, when they formed. Ect
But these are worth checking out.
I'm not a goth and never have been. I like some goth music.

its a Nick Cave band - was his birthday. he's either 66 or 666 now, one of those.

My lad sent me a link for a show with Geddy Lee, basically him talking about his life with exerpts from his book I think. I was considering it till I checked the prices, cheapest ticket at the Civic, 72 quid, itdoes include a copy of the book but.....fuck off Geddy, think I'll just buy the book or more likely wait till one of the kids gets it me for my birthday.
Am I just out of touch as regards prices of events?

No gig prices are generally ridiculous nowadays. You get the odd smaller band or smaller venue that is £40 or less but they are few and far between.
