The Music Thread Strikes Back

Im not a fan of Coldplay but don't really get why they get so much grief, they're not awful. Viva La Vida is actually a pretty good song IMO. I'd take them over Sheeran and Adele any day of the week. And they are not as loathsome as some of the absolute tripe that you hear.
Pop music is always an easy target, I s’pose.

All of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Adele have far more respect for me than the shite pop groups you get nowadays.

They write and perform all their own songs. Other groups are just glorified karaoke singers.

Hyperpop is the best thing to happen in mainstream music in a while tbf.

I agree with this, it's just their music does nothing for me.....so I take the radical choice and don't listen to it

i don't know much about ed sheeran but i have read articles that suggest he has a significant issue in not crediting other artists who's work he uses and passes off as his own. so the "write all their own songs" bit must be iffy where he is concerned.

We had a neighbour who was about the same age and came from the same village as Sheeran. By all accounts Sheeran was an arsehole.

When music outfits and output are manufactured by agents and record companies I despise it. When musicians create their own product I respect it even if I don’t like it.

It was technically only Edmondson (Vim Fuego), Mayall and Planer who were in Bad News. Mike was obviously too much of a cool person for Bad News.
