The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

So they cost themselves more by extending his contract in the summer. Shi levels of idiocy.

And they sack him with Tuchel off the market, when he was available in the Summer.

Southgate, Potter, Amorim, Xavi? Or relive Ole and give RVN a nice fat contract after a couple of wins?

Since Fergie left they have spent £2bn on transfers. Ten Hag was responsible for £645m of that in four windows.

Ouch.

Seeing that, puts how badly we're run and mismanaged into scale somewhat.

Clusterfucks all round.

Gives you more respect for Moyes who only had £61m of that, they'd be better off just with him even now

Take your pick out of these six (all on Ten Hag's watch):

1) Paying £50m for Onana when he was on a free a year previously

2) Paying £82m for Antony who looks like a League One player

3) Paying £35m for Zirkzee who was behind Wout Weghorst in the pecking order for Netherlands at the Euros

4) Paying £60m for 30 year old Casemiro who already had about 500 games for club and country on the clock

5) Paying £64m for Hojlund after a mighty 9 goal season in Serie A

6) Paying £55m for Mount after he'd lost his England spot and had spent loads of time out with niggling injuries

A chance to make them even more unlikeable?

Which would basically be them being like a second version of Arsenal (if he turns them around).

Ornstein reporting Amorim for the Utd job

The aura of the name I guess.
Van Haag underperformed versus the size of club and the amount of money spent, most of which was on players he wanted.

Not sure they are underperforming too much versus the players they have though. It needs more than just a new manager.

He'd be absolutely fucking mad to go there. Ten Hag was as good as a Doherty/Helan left hand side, but that squad is nowhere near competing without another complete rebuild.
Saw a United mate (generally sensible) mention Emery earlier - mate, Villa are in a better European competition than you, have better players in every position and are miles above you in the league. Dream on.
