The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

Daniele de Rossi sacked by Roma. Bit tough on a bona fide club legend.

Mike Williamson knew what he was doing. Leaves MK down bottom of League 2 and deserts them to join Carlisle

BBC article on Postecoglou being under pressure mentioned that since 13 April Tottenham have lost seven games, only team to have suffered more defeats in that time is us.

As is always the case with that type of manager the playing attacking football novelty the fans were so enamoured with has worn off to be replaced by the reality of the results...mate.

Tbh there team just isn’t very good though. How many players there would other top 4 clubs want. Son is 32 now. The defenders probably the closest to good enough. But the midfielders and forwards are just nearly men. Spent loads of money on Johnson, Richarlison, Odobert who aren’t top level and don’t think Madisson really is either. Solanke obviously still to prove himself but seems ok on paper, but at 26 was his first and only big season. Bergvall and Gray only young so unrealistic to expect anything elite from them at this stage.

So I don’t really think they have the talent to blow teams away and then if you’ve got a rickety goalkeeper and always giving up chances then your going to struggle to succeed

Van de Ven is probably their best player these days. And as you say, a lot of decent players but nothing at the level of City or Arsenal.

Incidentally, it seems United have lost by 3+ in the league 23 times in 123 games under Baldy.

Apparently they lost by 3+ 22 times in 1,035 league games under Fergie.

United keeping Walter Shite for at least the next two games but he's in danger if he loses both.

Why do clubs do this? You either do or don't think he's good enough, what does it change either way?
Time to get the new man in whilst saying they gave the current guy a fair chance.

We all know it's bollocks but the PR department have to do something for the overseas fanbase.

If he wins both games?

They don't think he's good enough. They didn't in the summer as they spent weeks looking at other options before deciding there was nobody better out there (seriously, nobody???)

A lot of speculation today that RVN was distancing himself from the mess yesterday and is waiting to step up to the plate

Dick move innit.

Sorry, Ruud, you’re on that staff. Those performances are (or, should be) your problem, too.

Klopp has taken an executive position with Red Bull, so I guess he’s evil now

Are red bull evil? Certainly tastes like shit, possibly a bit better owner than a conglomerate built on corruption though 👀

Tongue partly in cheek
