The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

I think a lot depends on whether the last 3 seasons is the new standard. If the league is going to be won by in and around 100 points every year then you are probably going to need 10/11 players in your best 11 who you would consider title winning standard. If it regresses back to the historic mean then you can get away with 2/3 that are just decent.

You and I are of similar ages Trev. I remember when we were pups and Liverpool were winning the league virtually every year and the feeling was you could lose no more than SIX games to win the league.

Safe to say that seems to have changed

Watford behind again, Southampton really are the ultimate Jekyll & Hyde side there is especially away from home.

Literally no one wants to stay up this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see 33 points be enough on GD

I think it could be even lower. The tat at the bottom looks like it has no idea how to get a point.

Agreed 2 wins for any of Bournemouth, Villa, West Ham or Watford should be more than enough.

This Watford team still baffles me. Literally the same XI that was competitive at the top end last year, FA cup finalists. Saw off Liverpool this year. Their midfield and forward line of much better than their competitors so should have the firepower but it’s just not happening.

To many under performing, Hughes, Sarr, Capone, Deeney have been none existent this half. Capoue was shocking on Thursday at Burnley, not as bad as Danny Wellbeck who somehow stayed on all game.

Having 3 players thrown out of the squad on the day of the game for going to a birthday party won't have helped today

Who was that I assume Challobah is one because he’s not there

It was Gray’s birthday I think?

Watford looking a lot better this half.

Windy day in Watford I presume as Foster throws the ball straight to Danny Ings who then scores

Oh shame. Will be really sad to see a Foster’s errors send them down.

Watford scoring zero goals and zero points to Saints and Burnley is a real dent in their survival hopes. Although with Norwich, Newcastle and WHU to play they still have to be favourites to get out of it.

Southampton feeling sorry for Watfird and score for them. Game on

Ward-Prowse ends the game on situation. 3-1. Great free kick
